Looks like a beautiful day out. Really trying to get motivation to start working on the rear suspension.

I spent my last weekend doing mine. Just the rear should be a piece of cake if you've got the rear lower shock mounts opened up so you don't spend 30 minutes trying to get one installed (grumbles).

 

I heard it's a tight fit for OME shocks. Hopefully Icon shocks go in easier.

 

Went to the Farmer's Union this morning. Against my better judgement, I let the GF talk me into 4 ducks and a goose while we were there.

She felt bad because they were the last ones

We haven't named the ducks yet. They come unsexed, so we're not sure on genders.
The goose we're calling Bruce, and if ends up that he's a she we'll just change it to Caitlyn.

 

Already running into snags. Looks like I may need to buy new bolts for the leafs, as at least one isn't budging, and I may need to break it/cut it out. I'm using a 24" breaker without much luck.

Try taking off a part of the jack handle to get you more leverage, if yours is two pieces (which I think most are) and slip it over the breaker bar. Are you heating anything up?

 

Had a decent size 19mm wrench, and hammered it with a mini sledge. After that came out fine. Good thing I'm replacing them though

 

Definitely! Sorry, I thought you were talking about the u-bolt bolts. I had to heat everything the same to get everything apart, so I am just going to say heat everything up!

 

The old u-bolts pretty much snapped when I removed them

What's your bag limit in ct? We just went to a 1/day limit

 

Did you anti-seize that last time you put the suspension together? I though I was going to snap my old u-bolts when I was putting the lift on, but I think they were under-torqued since new. So rust and my undercoating was helping to keep every thing nice and tight .

 

About 42 inches@28 lbs. Same with the limit down here. One a day.
We picked up 3 more the same size today,all released. Yesterday, we boated a 32 pounder. Kept that one. Got enough fillets for a while.

 

Nope. I had new u-bolts when I did the original lift. I made sure to order more for the new lift. There was no saving the old u-bolts.

 

Wow! Those were done for! Good thing you planned ahead.
