I think the variety pack worked great. I know you need one for the smallest hose (5/16 I believe).

Quick couple of questions. On the fence on getting a supercharger. I read over so many opinions do's and don'ts, never and always, shoulds and shouldnts...etc.

Pulley wise.... What size pulley can you run without having to do the bigger fuel pump?

CAI..... Why does Toyota advise against it? And for the guys that have put one on, have you had any problems directly related to installing it?

Maintenance....I read what gadget states. What seems to be the overall consensus as to when maintenance should be attacked??? The 4oz gear oil change, belt, coupler, coolant, etc..

I apologize if these seem stupid. Blowers are foreign to me as I've never had one. I have searched and read over a shit load of info but have yet to ask anyone.

Toyota CAI with SC for some reason causes lean fuel issues. So I have heard dealerships refusing to install a SC with the CAI. There are other brands that work. A big worry is emissions passing. I think RL has figured out how to get passed in Cali.

Maintenance 100k miles. Then it should be oil, coupler, new bearings etc. The Toyota SC belt won't last to 100k. There is discussion somewhere here that #xxx Gates belt is the way to go.

Smaller pulley can make your truck go lean at WOT and boom. That's why you need to have AFR etc all installed and monitored before a new fuel pump, and the stealth pulley.

If I do it, I'll probably just end up staying away from the pulley and all the stuff that comes with that specific mod. I like to keep things relatively simple......for me this would cause headaches.

I know the belt won't last 100k and heard the Goodyear gatorback is a great alternative. Are you guys finding the initial stock belt is only lasting approximately 10k miles???

Are any of you guys other than a belt changing your oil much sooner than the 100k???

And lastly, I have the trd exhaust. Would I get any benefits after s/c install and keeping it stock in adding a AFE pro dry CAI??

    Thanks again fellas.

    Hey guys,

Just want to let everyone know something I found out today about my TRD Supercharger install. Well apparently if you have the TSB for the engine pinging you will not be able to reflash the ECU with the new supercharger tune. My dealer had to order me a new ECU, I was pretty surprised I've not heard anything about it before.

Luckily for me they are going to swap it free of charge. :bananadance:

Guess not. Not a ton of SC out there to get info on. RL said 50k, I'll prolly do it at 10 years when I have about 70k on the truck.

That sounds like the norm....how's about the question in regards to adding a AFE CAI pro dry s to the supercharger setup??? I'm thinking of finally pulling the trigger on one on Monday!!!

Mine should be showing up today! It tried to get delivered while I was at work yesterday but my wife was feeding the baby and couldn't get to the door so they left a note saying they'll try again today. All I need to order now is exhaust, headers and Y pipe. I'm leaning towards short tube headers to maintain the front cats, and then when it's smog time I can just swap in the stock y pipe for the day

As far as I know there's a couple supercharged guys on here running the AFE Stage 2 SI pro dry or whatever intake with zero issues.

Yeah that's what I'm seeing. Man it sounds like it would kinda suck being a car/truck enthusiast in California.....with all your laws regarding mods!!!

I've been back and forth in buying the s/c. But like I said, Monday I'm finally gonna most likely put down my deposit to secure one. I'm getting exited!!!!

It will add noise to your truck under heavy acceleration, and the SC will add a lot as it is, starting at 2000 RPM, or even 1900 RPM.. It could under the right marketing bla bla situations increase even more horsepower as long as you use the butt dynomometer to test increased horsepower. Only the SC is buttdyno wow different, believe me.

Read around. Get the magic dust outta your eyes buddy. Even with headers, AFE, magic dust etc, you get VERY little gains. It's all about the programming of the ECU, and Toyo can do that since they are the ONLY ones that can do that when you add the SC.

Uh, with the SC, pretty much every bolt on provides dyno proven HP lol. For NA purposes, not so much, but once you go FI, the better the flow, the better the HP

Show me the dyno's with the added stuff after the TRD SC. And before they were added. Not some crazy 450 HP one, the regular TRD SC dyno's. I'm not paying $300 for 5 HP.

Go do a search. TORSPD and a few others have posted Dyno runs of their bolt ons before and after install, NA and FI.

I really don't care if you spend money or not, I'm just saying do some research before you run your mouth

Magic dust????..... my question about adding the afe cai AFTER a s/c installation.

I understand just an cai won't do shit.

I get the s/c will do shit.

I see some people have put a afe cai with a s/c setup and was wondering if it's worth it.....or if it will do more shit

And I don't want an opinion on how you'd spend or wouldn't spend your money. Just will it technically add more power

Had one installed by my dealer just after the first five thousand miles...Complete kit included injectors/intercooler with coolant pump and cooler mounted to front of radiator / supercharger/ air box routed to cold air. Dealer says Warranty Is not affected. As far as power goes .. I noticed a significant increase. It does have a distinct "whine" to it when making boost. I installed a boost gauge myself and can now relate the positive pressure to "acceleration" and "pull" I experience. I have seen as much as 7 psi ... but it usually makes between 5 and 6. Just plenty of power and torque .. Just thinking about Changing the drive pulley for more pressure. ..There are several options available. I was told to expect " Just over 300 hp " I can truly say it's got it. Hope this helps you ... PEACE from Tulsa
    In-town MPG 16-17 and hwy gets 19-20 @ 60mph 14-15 @ 85 mph.

Check the link in my Sig. In truth, the most hp per dollar will always be by F/I. Doesn't mean the gains aren't there because a person doesn't favor the cost to power ratio. 260-280 whp bone stock s/c add-on. Pulley, intake, headers, exhaust, and a few other things, getting around 315-330. Then time for the tuning.

Without the Snake bite mod, NOS, and or extensive mods, the TRD s/c will never put out over 400 whp.
