I am looking for any recommendations on brands of roof racks for an 04 double cab. I want to use it to haul a canoe/pirogue as well as a cargo rack. Thanks.

I have Yakima towers and bars... They work good however I built a trailer for my kayak. Hard for my weak ass to put a hundred pound kayak on the roof by myself with 3 inch lift and tires.

Thanks! I looked at their website but couldn't find anything for the 1st Gen double cab. Do you know if they make them for that model?

The Yakima just clip on between the door frame. Easy to put on and take off.

Some lift, some armor, some scratches..
Heard that it's in R&D right now!

Fwiw I have a dealer installed Perrycraft on top of my cab, and a Thule Tracker on the cap.

Because of how long a canoe is you may also need a hitch mounted support like the Thule Goal Post.

Take a look at www.frontrunneroutfitters.com Not just racks. Also rack accessories for storage. A bit pricey but well made. I'm undecided on whether to put a rack on the cab, the camper shell or both.

I don't trust the cab roof, so I mounted the gear on the cap. Bolted rails through the fiberglass cap -- solid as a rock. Then I can mount whatever accessory I want to the rails.
