Hey peeps, im looking for any knowledge or installs of an electric fan or dual e-fan setup in the 2012 to 2015 model V6 4.0s
Tried a few searches and came up with nothing. apparently there are kits for $400 for the 1st gens but nothing for 2nd gen and what I did see was out dated for 2012 up if anything has changed.
I want a kit that comes with the controller, shroud, fans, switches etc. but also something explaining how to remove the factory fan, what size belt do you go to? all the things associated with removing the stock pulley driven fan.
thanks for any info or insight

    NO.

There is a reason why toyota went with and continues to stick with the good ole mechanical viscous clutch motor driven fan on their trucks. its FAR MORE RELIABLE than an efan. Go look under the hood of any production truck worth its weight and they all have mechanical fans.

You are not going to get magically better mpgs by switching to an efan, or more hp.... the difference is so negligible and is not worth the extra complexity of an efan let alone the less reliability.

Ok let's assume there's no gains to be had by removing the huge ass fan that comes factory... it would open up alot of room in engine compartment, possibly for a ram intake?!? Better cooling can be achieved by using high speed silent fans when neccessary and not when not neccessary.
Look under the hood of turbo charged 9 second cars...

again... production vehicle that needs to be reliable.... comparing apples to oranges. Im not saying that efans do not have their place.... but in our trucks they are pretty much pointless, unless you are building a purpose built rig.

Room for ram air intake.... again, pointless, if you do your research you will see the OEM intake is a true cold air intake and produces the best overall power on a naturally aspirated motor.

And once up to operating temp the fan really poses no load on the motor.

That kit uses black magic 180 fan. It is a great fan I use one on my v8 in the south and it keeps it cool. However I did burn up a motor for some reason. The fal in the fin of the radiator thermostat sucks. Get a better controller and it is a solid fan.
