I don't really like the ones I have on because of being hard plastic and hate the hearing of them scrapping on a curb or off roading. I want rubberized ones that fit into the holes already there. Also I already took the front off and I don't like the amount of mud/rocks hitting the sides so any suggestions?

Do a search on this forum and you will see lots of options. I trimmed 4 inches off of the stock mud flaps both front and rear and no more curb scraping for me...took about 20 minutes to do all four flaps using tin snips.

I tried both the Husky and Weathertec flaps, both looked allot better and were shorter and used existing holes, but they did not cover the rub marks the factory flaps had left in the paint. I ended up trimming my factory flaps and they look great.

Has anyone made their own? Not sure what material would be best but it seems like this would be doable and several sets could be had for the cost of one set of the after market options.

I saw the trimming of the stock ones and came really close to but then I feel it won't offer as much protection(?) not sure...

Yep, trimmed 5" off all 4 flaps. Looks much better too.
