Not sure if this is the right thread, but what do you guys think about this deal:

2015 Prerunner DC MGM, TRD OR Extra Value, Tow, Entune Plus, All Weather Mats.
    25,060.00 Base
    4,764.00 Options
935.00 Manuf. Delv, Proc & Handl
    30,759.00 Total

After seeing this thread, I think I can get a 4x4 for close to this. Located in NC if that matters.

Yeah you can get a 4x4 for a couple grand more. But since you don't get much snow in NC, would it be worth it? Unless you plan on taking it off road that could be a deciding factor.

Didn't want to get too into serious wheeling, just some fire roads and light stuff like that. Also would like to take it on to the beach once or twice a year when I can get out that far East. The light trails are more needed than the beach honestly. As far as the snow, yeah, we don't get much in central NC, but I also didn't want to be stranded when we get the occasional 4-5". I'm getting out of a Quattro Audi for what may be my first truck.

None yet, but its about to get rolling.
Ya I battled the prerunner vs 4x4 but I've had a 4wd and never really used it. Even though it was only like 2 grand more for 4x4 I decided on the 2wd based on saving on insurance as well.

But the 4x4 will pay for itself the first time you need it, even if it only pats for itself in your mind, then it was worth it.
And you should be able to find a 4x4 @ or close to $30k

Totally agree. After having 4x4 on my old Pathfinder and then getting caught on the interstate in a blizzard. I'll never buy anything with out it. Most cars were forced to come to a complete stop, while myself and a few trucks kept on.. uh trucking (LOL). Ill always have 4x4 and will always buy A/T tires.

Look up RH toyota in Boston. Its a little bit of a drive but they have killer deals. I was going there if it wasn't for finding the PRO I wanted

Personally for the money difference I would get a 4x4. I drove through an off camber ditch real slow one time and got my drive wheel off the ground and I was stuck. Then with a twist of the switch I put it in 4wd and it was like nothing ever happened.

Thanks for the suggestions, RH has some screaming deals.

Came across this one, I know its cheaper to buy and mod after, but what would you guys value something like this. It's a DCSB 4x4 w/ SR5, Tow, Entune Plus and Carpeted mats. They added some tint, a lift, wheels/tires and Predator (?) step bars.

Its an sr5. The wheels look good but if you are going to offroad it I would get smaller rims.

All in all I can see them wanting 34k for it.

Worst case to do it yourself, you pick everything and pay someone else to do it..

    2k wheels and tires
    2k basic quality lift
500 overpriced step bars (or real sliders)

So add 4500 ish to the 27k or whatever RH has.. and subtract some from that..

    Maybe low 30s..

Seriously though I always shopped for good deals. Then I decided I wanted my PRO and I payed a premium. To the tune of full MSRP.

So in the end its really what you want. But over here on the east coast RH has the best deals I found. There are a few dealers I talked to that were very nice but they didn't offer the same deals. That and nobody in the Southeast region for toyota could get what I wanted so I went to Ohio.

Thats a good looking truck. But I would bet its going to rub, those tires are going to cost a pretty penny, and your stuck in sr5 seats.

Just things to think about and check out!

Thanks for the advice, dealer wants $41k+

Don't think they'd drop $6k+, seems like they're looking for a young guy with $ who doesn't know any better.

I was quoted 39 and change for a 2015 Trd offroad 6spd 4x4 with the supercharger and TRD exhaust DCSB.

I wouldn't touch a non sport or offroad package truck much over 30k.

I ended up paying 39 and change plus extended warranty for my PRO which is insane money for a stock tacoma but hell.. you only live once. Doesn't make my chocolate starfish less sore..

Thats 10k in markup on a sr5. Im sure they will sell it to someone. Hell they sell the shit out of those Xspx edition trucks and they have all kinds of ebay bling..

5 percent off MSRP is a fair deal and any dealer should be able to meet that. Lots of dealers will do like they did with my PRO and add accessories you may or may not actually want. Like my stupid toyota step bars that they rape you for at 499. They add it right on full retail and then act like its a bargain when they come down 2500 off the trucks MSRP. Every toyota accessory is cheaper online, if you find a truck with some you want the dealer should match those prices.

Trdparta4u.com is a great reference because its a toyota dealer.

There's lots of guys on here modding there trucks and lots of knowledge where to buy stuff etc. So if theres any specific thing you would like to do search around and you can get great info!

    http://www.rhtoyota.com/new/Toyota/...altimore-390636d00a0a006529d7909d4f288f94.htm

I think this dealer has the best advertised prices I have found. And depending on area and dealer size etc im sure most won't match the price. .. BUT you can leverage the fact that for the price of a plane ticket and gas. Or gas 2 ways you could walk in and get a deal. Most should be able to make it worth your while not to need to go out of your way.

And if they try to say you would get better service buying there.. why wouldn't you get the same level of service coming there for services with a toyota you bought at a different dealer who made it worth your while? I am sure if they had some reason toyota corporate would love to know why they aren't willing to service all toyota owners to the same level.
