Had to get creative on how to get the rear of the frame in position to weld since I'm by myself. 3 ratchet straps later and I'm pretty damn close

Well I've started going to the gym again finally. Only took me gaining 30lbs over the last 3 years to get motivated haha. I'm still working on the truck from time to time. I've got the frame welded back together just need to plate over it, one spring hanger is tacked together, both shackles mounts are prepped and ready to go on. Need to pick up some metal for the frame plates and to gusset the front hangers and order new perches for the axle but I should be mostly done this weekend.

Both brackets welded up and cooling. Warped them a little... oh well, adds character. Going to add a little more to them tomorrow and get them tacked on the frame. Wont be able to finish till I get my perches because I want to set the truck down on it's on weight and throw the fuel cell, spare, and a bunch of other shit on there to make sure I get the shackle angle I want. Pictures tomorrow.

Did you reuse the shackle hangers? And how far inboard, just 3"?

Yeah 3" per side (basically just moved the spring hangers from the bottom of the framerail to the inside) so 6" total. And yeah I am planning on just using the shackle hangers that were on there but I am going to make longer shackles to replace the 5.5" one on there and put them at a flatter angle. Just trying to decide if I want to do 6" like my 82 or 7" eye to eye.

Would boxing the ends be necessary? These are already getting heavy since it's all 1/4"

I'm getting really tired of cutting shit out with the grinder haha. The plasma is down.. got new electrodes but the welding store didn't have tips in stock and the one on there is burned out to the side.

Lol neither do I. This one is a loaner

I just used some 1/4" drops laying around. I don't want to have to ever worry about them and I don't think I will haha. They are easily 15lbs each

    Looking a little shorter now!

This gives you a little idea of how crooked the frame is. Pass side frame rail is straight..

Pretty close to where the pinion will end up I think. Should have much more driveshaft clearance between rotating the pinion up and shortening the truck.
