Hey camera gurus!!! My buddys dad is selling this Canon. I really don't know anything about cameras, but hes selling it for $350, and I bet he would cut me a deal being an old family friend. Would this be a decent all around camera to shoot some photos with while out on the road or trails, and still work well for other photo activities?

Like I said, I literally know nothing about cameras.

 

T3i is a nice starter camera for sure. Ben shoots a t2i. You can get some great stuff out of it.

 

Hmm think a used one is worth 300? I dont think he has any extra lenses, but has a bag and all the original stuff that comes with it. You guys and all your photos make me want to get a nice camera and start playing with it.

 

If it comes with a card or two then Id say yea.

 

I'm to lazy to quote on my phone but a dodge Cummins plus a camper will put me in debt. I am looking for something I could possibly take a loan out on but have the option of paying most of it off if need be.

Now, I am not constantly towing my truck around or moving the RV. Ideally I will be able to stay around one of the peoples places I work with or find someone that will share a piece of their land for cheap. So while mpg would blow, if it got me to the place then I would surely make up the difference in not paying rent for places.

My goal with a camper is to be able to tow it as is. Which means it has to be light. Another thing I need to consider is stealth camping. Obviously a trailer hooked to a truck isn't stealthy but it looks normal, while a pop up trailer is pretty easy to notice if someone is using it.

boost isn't happening. 5K is just not in the truck budget with reality around the corner.

Also will need to learn to edit and get software

 

Do that with the RTT just above the bed.

Well, it is kinda illegal to live out of a camper or truck. So stealth camping is when you "camp" in a spot but no one suspects you being there. Truck beds with a shell make the most sense. Park wherever, wait for dark, crawl in and go to sleep. I am not super worried about this as most of my work will be around BLM land. If not on BLM land. But it is still nice to keep in mind when looking to do something like this.

These hardside pop ups are pretty cool and reasonably priced used. They take a couple minutes to put up and down. Just enough space for me and the lazy pup to crash at night. Plus they got the whole tipi style going on.

I think I'm gonna just upgrade my "fogs" and Id even rather have the CBI ditch light brackets.
