Just got a set of 16 inch TRD wheels for my 08 Tacoma SR5. Can I have these mounted at any tire shop or do I need to go to a Toyota place because of the TPMS?

Any legitimate tire shop should be able to handle the tpms sensor swap.

As long as you currently have the alloy wheels and not the steel wheels sensors can swap.
Different angle on the steel sensors vs the alloy.

That was what I was concerned about. I have the plain stock wheels which im assuming are steel. Any suggestions?

Then you will probably need new sensors as the other guys have mentioned.
