    We sell both... but run AP on our own trucks for the best overall ride and performance both on and off road. Nothing against the Dakars, but keep in mind they are from an Australian company where they mostly load their trucks down with a lot of added weight for trips to the outback, and if you want to go that route, I'd go with the APex leafs. The Dakars do sit a little lower though.

    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    my standard APs were neg arching before the rear shackle when i took them off.

    AP's standard springs have a lighter spring rate, so you do have to be sure not to overload them and to run bumpstops. Also, all springs do settle once they are broken-in. The EX springs are good for weight carrying though. Mine never flattened out, even with lots of abuse!

    Allowing a spring to go into a negative arch will certainly cause permanent damage.

    Nice! Dakars are definitely decent springs, but they are limited by the overload leaf in terms of flex and ride quality. However, for most people, they will never notice the limitations, but for those who will, AP is a good choice... when properly set-up.
