    What's the actual *game*?

    I mean, I played AC/EQ1/EQ2/WoW/LOTR/etc MMO games, and those made sense. I'm not sure I understand what the actual gameplay mechanic in use here is? I *get* stabbing an orc and looting his kneecap for armor crafting, but...what the hell are you actually doing?

    So, I downloaded and installed, because reasons.

    Went res because the coinflip said so.

    Turns out, there's an L7 portal for the Enh's about 600M from where I sit. I literally can go 5 steps past the wall of my office building and hack at it. Which I immediately did.

    Failed on the first try, got an L1 resonator and something else on the second. There's also two more portals (also greenies) that appear to be up around my normal 'lunchtime walk' path, so I'll check them tomorrow.

    I dunno if I'll like it, or do it right, but I'll give it a whirl. I'll scan when I get home and see what I find as well.

    You should look up, or use the comms (find the faction channel) and meet up with people. They will share the secrets of the game and give you some tools

    I just started playing this. Barely know what I'm doing lol. I'm level 2 and pretty much everything around me is lvl 5 and up. I don't have time to get super serious with it. I'm moving to Georgia on Monday, so maybe someone down there can show me the ropes at some point. Until them I just hack random portals when I drive by them and then attack lvl 5 resonators with lvl 2 xmp bursters because I get bored and that's all I got.

    I'm still newb level one, but I found about 5 portals near my office I can hit at least 3x a day without doing anything extra really, so that'll help.

    I actually found a level 1 portal that was unclaimed, so I snagged it and stuck a shield mod on it...bang, half my level in one swell foop.

    Farting around, I like the interface and the UI, despite its lagginess.
