Anyone in North County got a 54mm Axle/hub socket that I could borrow through next Friday? Gotta do my wheel bearings.

You can get an inexpensive single socket at autozone for that, I think mine was only $10 or less ?

Unfortunately, my truck actually uses a 54mm socket for the axle lock nut. I only found one at O'reilly's and it was $50, so I ordered one off Amazon since I need it soon and my time was almost up for shipping so it would get here before Wednesday. If anyone has one I might return it. It wasn't too expensive and it might prove useful in the future, though.
    Thanks!

Not for CV's, I don't think. Just to get the hub off to service the wheel bearings. I'm 95% sure you don't have to take the hub off to take the CV axle out, but I've never replaced a cv since I just recently began doing my own maintenance.
What can I say, I've got big nuts...

I got the one off Amazon because it would get here before my parts do so I'm not hung up. Thanks to free same-day delivery with prime it's already here, yet my parts are still processing...:ballchain:

I know some of you here like to read about Baja trips...

Here is one article I wrote that was published yesterday, from a trip south of Mexicali 2 months ago searching for a lost Spanish soldier's grave:
    http://www.bajabound.com/bajaadventures/bajatravel/searching_for_melchior_diaz.php

That same weekend, driving to that part of Baja, was a fun 4WD run on the Pole Line Road built in Baja by the U.S. for our radar station in San Felipe. Here was the article for that, published last month:

So I won't be down to San Diego as early as I was supposed to be. The ferry broke down in Whittier ak before it could make it to me here on Kodiak, but let me tell you it totally fucked me. I was surprised at how little ALASKA marine highway company could cared and how little they did to help us out. So instead of leaving from Kodiak tomorrow for the 6 day cross golf to bellingham wa, I am now leaving next saturday for homer ak. I will be doing the entire ALCAN now and on to San Diego pulling a 6x10 cargo trailer. I did get my truck ready for a 1100 mile drive but not a 3700+ mile drive that i will now be doing. So im going to get some last minute work done by Green Tree Fab so I have a little piece of mind. My plan for the trip is as follows:
    Ferry to homer
Homer to Anchorage (spend 2 days in anchorage and get some work done by GFT)
    Anchorage to Tok
    Tok to Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada
Whitehorse to Dawson Creek (that will be the longest day at like 16hrs)
    Dawson Creek to Vancouver
    Vancouver to Eugene,OR
    Eugene to Sacramento CA
Sacramento to my moms house in Huntington Beach
Huntington Beach to my house in San Diego

Just did fresh oil and diff fluid changes, having GTF change out my worn uca bushings, cleaned air filter/throttle body, as well as put some newer tires on and upgraded my brakes to drilled and s,otted rotors and green stuff pads from EBC. I also picked up an Alaska/Canada Milepost. I will be bringing four 5 gal gas cans for extra fuel, a couple extra quarts of oil, and a height adjustable hitch to level out the trailer a little better.

I wish I had more notice because I would have added some Firestone ride right airbags and daystar craddles cause my rear sags pretty good with all that weight from the trailer. I still have 3" to my super bumps touch, but it would have been more piece of mind rather than necessity and it would pushing my rear up helping my front end not be so light .

Hey guys, what are some good camping sites in San diego county? Preferably not fully booked all throughout summer.

Camping in the summer is only fun if you drive north where it's a bit cooler or go through all the beach sites. San Onofre is a good one, can still have fires on the beach, but I think it's first come first serve. I liked the Carlsbad spot since it was up on the cliff, but I'm pretty sure you have to reserve that. I think your best bet is Lake Cuyamaca, minus the fires having to be out before 10.
