The dealer did say that only the limited will have the sunroof and chrome gill. The one in the pictures is not representative of the actual look of production vehicles.

If this is the case I will be highly upset. They should sell the sunroof as a stand-alone option OR as standard on the limited, like they do with a lot of other vehicles in Toyota's lineup.

Not saying your dealer doesn,t know but we have already seen pics of the sunroof on the TRD Sport and I bet the grills will be as we have seen them.

Your dealer is an idiot and wrong. The sport had a sunroof. And the sport and off road share the same grill. When I spoke with the rep at the autoshow she said the truck will look the same for production. I knew more about the 2016 and my 15 for that matter than my dealer. I wouldn't listen to crap from them.

Ok all, here's an update. Just spoke to my Inventory Manager, and the 2016 Tacoma has not been loaded into the inventory system. It also isn't mentioned in the bi-monthly allocation report, which means it will be at least two more weeks before any allocation orders can be placed.

I am a sad, sad panda.

He did say that he's been staring at a the 2015 Pro in their showroom, and decided that he's going to order up a 2016 Pro. I wonder if this dealership will do a 3" lift on warranty?

Have we seen any pics of 2016 Pros?

Also wondering how much validity is in MaydayPBs post above regarding options.

BTW, I mentioned Bryan may have to wait until '17 for a Pro. I think he meant off-road, he was busy unloading a truckload of Prii at time time.

As for MaydayPB, nothing is confirmed yet but he's probably in a different region than I am. Gulf States can't order yet, and that's all I can speak to. I have a scanner on my phone, so I will at least provide PDF evidence of everything I get my hands on within 8 hours of when I get it.

It is nice to know I'm not the only one holding a 2016 Taco vigil. Fingers crossed...

Toyota didnt confirm a 2016 Pro, they confirmed a Pro not a 2016, not sure he knows what he's talking about there.

I can't believe they would discontinue the pro. That thing is an off road monster for a stock truck

OK - how hard is it for Toyota to disseminate information to their dealerships so it's ALL accurate and the same? Apparently it's like rocket science. Or, maybe the plan is to throw out misinformation and build suspense to boost initial sales. And, you would think they would want their salespeople to know MORE about these trucks than us here on this site, at least initially, right?

In fairness to Bryan, he's the inventory manager and not a salesman. He hasn't committed to any piece of information that he can't verify in his inventory system. We have a "rough draft" order on paper, but are waiting to truly spec it out until after all the options are in the computer. He's expressed some frustration with not having any news on the 2016 as well, but also still has 2015s to still get off the lot. Not Tacomas, but other 2015s.

To call TacomaWorld members "enthusiasts" is like mentioning that vampires "like a little blood." It's not hard at all to consider that we'd know more because we're more focused on the prize.

The guy I bought my last truck from said he was informed the are to get "trained" on them in late july. I don't know what that means or of he was just messing with me. But it gives me hope. I would like to see a pro 2015 in person. Just so I can drool a little, not many off road areas around these parts. Just big corn fields in the country.......

Got an email from my dealership Inventory Manager today. Toyota is still fulfilling orders for 2015s, and the 2016 may not enter the computer for ordering until a week before production start. Start is still scheduled for 15 July.

    Still more waiting...

Check the inventories on the unsold 2015 Tacoma's sitting on all the lots across Canada and the US, I don't think there will be any movement to introduce the 2016 until those inventories of unsold 2015's are down to a level that Corporate Toyota is comfortable with.

The Salesman I am talking to had pictures of the new 2016 Tacoma on his Facebook page with comments on how much he liked it and he was told to take it down.

IMO Toyota does not want to much being released about the 2016's until they flog a whole bunch of 2015's that are sitting on lots and in holding yards across North America.
