After noticing my MPG's dropping quite a bit lately, I decided to check the spark plugs.

I did change them only 8k miles ago, but I also only put in NGK Iridium single ground, which I guess was a bad decission.

However once trying to get the spark plugs out of the passenger side, I broke the clip off of the one wire that attaches to the boxy thing (Yes, I know little about cars)

Now instead of being fit securely, the wire is a bit loose. What exactly is it, and should I replace it?

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Do you mean the plug wires? Buy a new set.

OK, I found out from the service manual online.

I broke the clip that secures the ignition coil connector to the ignition coil.

Do you think that it is ok to run the truck with a broken clip on the ignition coil connector?

I dont imagine that the connecter is something that can be changed by itself. I will probably have to replace the whole thing.

Can you just replace the ignition coil connector for one coil? Or do you have to replace them all?

Is it the coil or wire that has the broken connector?

its the coil connector, the one that connects to the ignition coil.

The clip that keeps it in place broke off and now it is loose.

I am thinking that a temporary fix would be to just to tape it in place.

You can do that. Be prepared to replace it though. :)

But do you think that I can just replace the one connector? Or will I have to replace the whole thing?

    I imagine the whole coil.

Well I just used some electrical tape to tape it up and it is quite secure now.

Use a tywrap. Tape will eventually come off.

As long as all the wires are connected and connected securely, you should be fine.

I did the same thing with the High Tension Cord. I used 2 Zip ties holding it in place. Been there for over 3 yrs.
