Just spoke to my dealer. For a 2012 taco it is $99 for pads and $79 for each rotor. Total about $260+tax. They refused to give me part numbers so I can't look elsewhere. Are these numbers about right. Seem high.

Rock Auto, Auto Zone, Advance Auto, O'Reilley, Summitt Racing, JC Whitney should all have the parts you need with just the make, model, and year of your truck.

Dallas Toyota usually has good prices with a discount and you can see what the part numbers are and look at the parts sheets for anything on the truck.

Nope. Just parts. Right. It's crazy. I don't mind waiting for shipping if it beats their prices

The smart dealers match online prices, these dudes sound like clowns as they wouldn't even give you part numbers.

For something pricey online is best as they usually ship for free if over a given $ amt. Your order should cover that. For smaller orders(air/oil filters) I get them at a local dealer. Not a bad idea to establish some kind of contact with a local dealership.

You're in southern New England. Google "Online Toyota Parts Massachusetts". Bunch of online sellers one state up from you.

What do you mean, the dealer won't give you part numbers? Just buy the parts from Toyota, and do the install yourself.

Or you could be sneaky and go to the parts counter, get the parts, write down the part #, then say, no thanks and walk out with your part number.

Not at all unusual. I've run into this before. I suspect they figure you want the part number so you can then buy elsewhere. They don't want to waste their time doing their competitors job. As stated before in this post, there are a number of online sellers that post part numbers. You have to dig around.

Store policy on not giving them out. I dug and found them. Called a different dealer. And said I have this part number. Is that of the part. He said yup. Sad but that dealer may lose my business

It's easy to get around, like ^ guy did.

You can say to the parts counter, I need brakes, but want to make sure the part numbers are correct from what they should be. They then give you the part #, then you can walk away with your info.
