Well found some trouble in the Cascades, anyone have any experience in fiberglass repair? Lol

 

I have no experience in fiberglass repair but a boat shop would be a good place to go to get it looked at. Or YouTube would be a good place for helpful videos.

 

Yea, I saw this day coming a long time ago (a big reason why I haven't painted it yet haha) and I have a fiberglass repair kit and a bunch of bondo hoarded.

What happened man? looks like its all repairable at least and your not stuck buyin all new glass... Ive heard its really not that hard to work with, just messy. but Ive wondered this myself how doible it would be to repair if mine ever explodes, let us know the outcome for sure.

 

Is there someone posting the same item (or similar). Had a friend trying to sell something one time and so was someone else. Friend would post it a bit cheaper and within a few hours it would be flagged. Its sadly a somewhat common thing people will do so only their ad is up. Its the crappy part of CL flagging in that there doesnt have to be any proof and its just a click of a button to flag an ad.

 

I hear you. The terrain out here is a little more open, but you can't push an LT truck in the woods much. That's why I have the cruiser.

 

I slid into a tree and broke a bedside once. It's easy to fix and there are a million youtube vids on how to do it. I have a few yards of carbon fiber reinforced kevlar if you need any material. Also, kitty hair is some useful stuff if you need to bride any gaps.

Hey guys got a question. For a growing family I'm thinking of getting rid of the Access cab. Here arey thoughts


1. Tacoma double cab 4x4 with 6 speed
2. 4Runner either SR5 or Trail
3. Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with the diesel engine

If the 4Runner came in a manual that would be the slam dunk for me. The truck is handy around the house, and the Jeep is comfortable as all hell.

 

1. Have the double cab, and love it. I will give you a tip though, having the manual with a kid in the back can be quite awkward, especially reaching back and trying to fix things, or sooth them. Keep in mind, you need both hands to drive it, what if you are by yourself?

2. I can't comment on the 4runner, although I would love to have one, but I would then need to find a beater truck for hauling stuff.

3. Had the first year of the new Grand Cherokee Limited with the 5.7. Wife loved the car, but the engine had constant problems (not sure of the diesel). Downsides are is that it's too nice to play with. No bed. VERY careful about hitting anything.

That's the first thing I thought. How you goin' to have a free slappin' hand if you have to be all shiftin' all the time? Damn.

The big thing is determine if you need open bed or more closed interior. I sorta kinda use my bed, but a 4R would have made more sense.... however the 4R costs way more, so there's not much to win with.

Mitch, isn't your wife really picky about the vehicle choices? It kinda throws out all my advice, otherwise I would have said Subaru Forester/Outback hatch, or Toyota Sienna.
The subies provide a safe ride, offer utility without being boring, and look OK. MPG I would imagine would beat the SUV crowd. Maneuverability should be a plus for the wife.
Everyone hates on vans, but the Sienna feels like you command a freaking space ship, there's comfort features OUT THE ASS, and the price is super low for what you get. There's mad room for a family to do a lot of things as well, auto opening doors, and the list goes on. I had one as a rental and I felt like I should be wearing gator shoes and a fedora.

 

Also, an F150 might not be all that bad. If I have to buy domestic, that's where I'd be looking.

 

You left out the Landcruiser. Both the 100 and older 80 series are plentiful, seat a football team, and are 10x cooler than anything on that list. The Lexus version also has a swanky interior and all the bells and whistles-

I totally hear you on the stick. I've missed driving one since my 4Runner so it would give me he truck back with the stick.

I'm not too worried about Offroad the 4Runner or the Jeep. Wouldn't plan on doing that with either

 

The LC would be awesome. Just couldn't fit in my current garage. Already got shut down on a suburban so anything that size is going to be no from the wife

 

The 100 is shorter than a double cab, and two inches longer than a 4runner. The FJ80 is shorter than all of them, and my lifted 3" with 33's FJ80 fits in a standard garage with room to spare. My wife drives ours around town because it's easier to park than the AC taco, and obviously has more storage for groceries and whatnot. There are a few diesel examples (with lockers!) showing up from overseas too...just sayin'

I love my AC 6 spd if I could I'd trade it for a DC 6 spd. Only thing from stopping me is that my 2011 AC has just over 21k
