Yes. That exactly what I want. That means I am paying for ability to work not for fancy sheet metal that I can get with passenger cars.
The bigger the engine the more work can be performed.... its opposite to passenger car or soccer mom mobile where comfort and styling is more important because primary work is to get you from point A to Point B in most comfortable way.
Thats why when I need to get work done I drive Tacoma.
When Iwant to travel, I drive my other truck with leather heated/cooled seats. JBL double DVD system, heated mirrors, dual A/C s

Dont laugh, but I've been searching Craigslist lately for Fuso 4x4... Not many of them for sale and usually they severely beaten up

    but

This is what can be done with them
And its Diesel, and it has a lot of towing, and payload and it can be with 4x4...

I'm not going to get into one of the famous BlueT vs Sterdog fights.

Quote everything or nothing please. Engines don't determine tow ratings. Yes it is a factor, but most trucks have their weak points elsewhere. Notice how Toyota didn't stick another 2000 lbs on my tow rating when I S/C'd....

You mention work truck and creature comforts. Usually people buy one or the other. No one here buys a longhorn, denali, 1794, or king ranch for work because the interior will literally rattle apart or stop working in about 5 seconds.

Is there really this much controversy over an engine? Man i swear some people need a big engine to male them feel better. I mean I know shrimp dick syndrome is no laughing matter.... Okay look the new engine will be good. Toyota has made a lot of good engines and they have a lot riding on this engine so it's not like they didn't tune it for better torque and horsepower. Also the truck and engine haven't been released yet so we will see how it performs in the real world! Also a Hino 4x4 would be cool for a hard core expo rig. But if everyone wants a bigger displacement engine you can always get a 5.7 and stuff it under the hood.

The F-650 uses the same diesel available in the F-250. You don't need a bigger engine to tow heavier trailers. The Tacoma towing capability is limited more by the truck itself than the engine.

Take the Tacoma and strengthen the frame, change out the trans for a heavy duty (or add a fluid cooler), add a towing friendly stability and brake controller, add bigger brakes and bigger axles, gears, etc... and I would still be cautious about towing anything heavier than the truck itself.

Those Earth Cruisers are cool...I have considered a Fuso for my travel vehicle...though I think they are a bit too/bigtall for the places I like to go. Plain ol' pickup and a popup camper seems like it works better for me. Got to the point I realized I don't need a bigger vehicle...just need to take less crap with me.

I been looking at the Fuso forum and there are guys who modified Canter dump trucks with camper, they leave mechanism to use to remove camper when not needed. That way truck is not tall for day to day driving but you can always get camper easily back when needed. I think its simply brilliant dont know who came up with that but he deserves Nobel.
They have pop out campers so they are lower. Camper 4x4 would be perfect for beach.
Couple Solar panels on the roof to keep charge. Its perfect..

So what you telling me Towing 5000 lb with 2015 Access cab with 2.7 L is the same as towing 5000 lb with 2015 Access cab with V6 4.0?
Same trucks, only difference is an engine.

No, what Im telling you is adding a V8 will not drastically change the Tacoma's tow rating. But good try.

I tought you said its everythign else. those are same trucks with difference of 1500lb in towing capacity just because engine.
going from 2.7 to 4.0 changes from 5000 to 6500 (by 1500 lb)
Going from 4.0 to 5.7 would atleast change from 6500 to ...drumroll please 8000lb (by 1500 lb)

Thats 1000lb over silly Colorado.. :D with malibu engine

Oh and BTW our trucks use CLass iV hitch so all the mounting and everythign else has to be designed to
Class IV – up to 10,000 pounds (4,500 kg) – larger loads (campers, boats, etc.)

Haha, no. 8000 lbs is twice the weight of your truck. I won't even get into the rear leafs; imagine a gust of wind blowing a trailer that size. V8 or no, your truck will so become the towed if your not careful. Slamming on your breaks without proper brake management? Forget about it.

As I said (and forgot to mention), you would need stability control that can be configured to control a heavy trailer, new rear suspension, and most likely a new rear axle.

At this point your better off with a Tundra.

Look, I get the desirement of a V8, I really do. Its just not going to happen. Too much overlap into Tundra territory and historically a very small customer base.

When Toyota puts something better in it than Sienna Engine, Dont want to compete with Colorado and Malibu engine.
Hopefully by 2017 Toyota will see they f ed up and makes V8 an option.

2017 would be a smaller engine if anything. Again, wake up, Government policy on emissions and MPG's is not something Toyota or any manufacturer can change :notsure:

Just the hitch is designed up to 10,000 lbs. Not the rest of the truck like the frame, axles, brakes, etc.

I really liked the size of the gen 1 Tundra. Now the Tundra looks like it compensating for a small dick not to mention the hideous styling.

My F150 has the Mustang engine and the other option for the truck is the SHO engine. Both "car" engines seem to work pretty well for me and the business I work at. Just sayin'
