tires then lift ...question

have a question about getting tires then a lift at two different times.

i have a 2010, dbl trd sport, 17 inch stock rims

i want to buy tires to replace and the stock.
i do very little offroad, but want a good all around tire for a decent price.
i live in Vancouver bc, so i see alot of rain and some light to heavy snow for about 3 months .

so my question is
if i were to buy tires before i get my 2.5- 3 inch lift what size tires should i buy that would fit on my current no lift taco, and still look nice on the lifted version. any pics/ links would be great.

and secondly what tires do you recommend for my situation? i was thinking the firestone destinations a/t's.

i think without the lift the biggest size tires you can use are 265/65/17 but do a search

 

265/75r16 are the biggest tire with no rubbing. I have them on mine with no rubbing, but no lift. I have seen trucks here with the same size as mine with a 3" lift and they will still look very good. I have the bfg all terrains

 

he has a TRD Sport 17 inch wheels.

I just went through this with my 2010 DC TRD Sport. I went with 265/70/17

we tried 275/70/17 but the 275 was to wide, so the 265/70/17 BFG All Terrain KO is what I went with, BFG I don't think makes a 265/75/17...so 265/70/17 is the way to go, I have no lift either, maybe by the end of the week I will

I do very little off roading also and this is what swayed me for the BFG for wet pavement, my considerations were more towards a mud terrain...but the AT wins out...

 

hey thanks for the quick replies. I know the max size but was wondering on what it would look like with a lift after i get the the max size tire on the non lifted truck.

confusing...
first get the max size tire, then buy the lift, what would it look like?


also the type of tire i should get for my conditions.

 

Not confusing at all friend... The max tire size is based onthe fact that you have no lift....see my pics...I have no lift, I went with my max that would not rub, once I get a lift I can go bigger (but won't)
