Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
Okay just off the phone with Kurt and the guys at cruiser outfitters...lift kit is ordered. It was a hard choice because of all the extra front engine weight but I went with the Comp OME coils 5" front/4" rear. Should give me 4" total since I am about 600# heavier in the front than a regular 80 series. If not I'll be rolling Bro Lean Status on the cruiser...

Just be sure to remark the template using the holes on the snorkel itself. Mine was way off.

Nahh Dawg these Comp Springs have a lot of travel to them. Kind of like the difference between a 700# spring and 600# on a set of coilovers... no difference in real travel numbers but I have to be able to hold this weight up.

It already has a 12k winch...Ala Harbor Freight. It will suffice for the time being while I find a new 12k or 10k I like. In the mean time these winches are pretty strong but slow as fuck!

Yeah I read that the big hole was fine and the rest were off a good bit. I am not sure it will even line up with the airbox so I have some work to do I'm sure...might save that one for a rainy weekend.

IMO that's a great setup from Kurt. He knows his stuff. I've been looking at swapping out my J springs for 5" comps but the spring rate is MUCH higher. I think it will be perfect for your truck. You can always add a coil spacer in the rear if you need a bit more lift. I have 2" spacers front/rear to get me to about the 6" I've got. But there's another local guy here that has that exact same OME comp setup on his 80 and it looks great and he's about the same height as me.

This isn't the best shot of his truck but should give you an idea of lift height as well as the front bumper, snorkel and he's even got a Labs rear bumper(no swingouts). the comps give plenty of lift. His 315 ATs even look kinda small.

The Badlands winch actually isn't bad for a "cheap" winch. Pretty reliable actually, just hella-slow like you said. I'm continually impressed with my COMEUP winch. Quality is awesome and fully submersible is nice along with the included synthetic rope.

Same 80 with the comp coils. It flexes pretty well. He has lots more travel than this pic shows.

Awesome info Adam. I can't thank you enough for all the help and suggestions along the way. My goal was 4" of lift to not be too huge but still have room for 37s down the road. Hoping it all works out.

I hope so. I'm not a huge fan of coil spacers so I made it harder for them to try and get it sprung right for the weight. Until the bumper is done and the cargo drawer system is built it will be pretty stink bug status I imagine. If I need any spacers it will be small ones in the rear.

Eventually I have to get back to building my trailer...FML.
