Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
I'm with you Adam. I agree. It has more to do with the ability for the coil to be completely compressed before touching a bumpstop...that's all. I have used them in the past, they work well as long as they aren't the poly style ones.

    Agreed.
I hear you but for me I'd rather use the springs for the lifting and the spacers for the shimming. The great part about being able to pick your brain is that I could look at the J springs/spacers and the comp springs and make an informed decision because of my added weight. Who knows I may need 4 spacers. I'll toss them in there gladly but if I can start with a spring closer to my desired lift that could mean that I need a 1/2" or 1" spacer vice a 2" or larger that's all.

@Box Rocket I need to come see your Comeup Winch sometime. Having never had or even seen another winch in use I am curious to compare it to my TJM. I love the TJM and don't have any regrets with it but I imagine it is on the slower side of pull speed.

I don't know what the speed is on the TJM. I think I told you I was looking at the same TJM winch you have. I even called Slee to make the purchase through him. Worked out well because he was out of them. We had a long conversation about them and he was dropping them from his product line and replacing them with ComeUp. He felt that TJM was not going to have much support in the USA in the near future. Also said the ComeUP was a "much better winch" so he was glad to make the change. I still think the TJM has some nice features. But no complaints about my ComeUP

back to the topic of coils binding.....here's a couple shots of my rear suspension when I first got the springs swapped over. Granted it's not maxed out but should give you an idea. The shot of the rear axle should show that the coils stay pretty straight even when compressed so the coils aren't going to bind up.

Well my TJM has done everything I have asked of it but if I ever need to replace it, Comeup was and still is at the top of my list.

Okay quick vote...the grille on the 80 is fucked. The more I look at it the more it pisses me off. PO tried to be all Homertaco and cut it out, build it back up and mesh but it looks like a successful coat hanger abortion.

Can't decide on whether to just replace it with the Sombrero grille or get the older TOYOTA letter grille. Leaning towards the older style but just wondering what you guys had to offer...which is probably poor judgment on my end...
