I just got a new tacoma and I want to lift it. There are so many options all my buddy's run old pickups so I have no way to see what rides the best. Any suggestions for a lift? I have been looking on toytec at the ultimate fox lift or the stage 3 icon lift. Whats better? what are you running and do you like it?

Congrats on the truck and getting the 6 speed manual!

To your question, we need to know what you're budget and intended use will be. If budget is a concern and you plan on doing very little to no off-roading, Bilstein or OME (Nitro Sport) are a good options, a lot of value for the buck. If you're more serious and have the money, Icon and Fox are great. Whatever you do "leave the spacers, take the coil overs".

I did the toytec 3" lift and love my set up. Much improved over stock. Only spent 650 on the kit. If I had more money to throw at it then I woulda gone icon but like everyone else said, it's all about the money you're willing to spend!

Thanks for all the input. Decided to go with the fox ultimate suspension. Being from Santa Cruz I have to support the local brand. Just wouldn't feel right having it be any other way. Looking forward to putting it on soon and heading to hollister.

The wonders of the internet. Take into account some people think spacers and body lifts are a great way to "lift" a truck. Sad part is someone will see a comparison of billies to Icons/King/ect. and believe these idiots about billies being just as good because they simply cannot afford anything better.

@tacotommy831 How do you link the FOX ultimate 3" lift kit? How does it ride on the road and highway? How does it perform on the dirt and off road? Got any pics?
