I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

4x4 is a must lift bumpers and skids are not needed but if you don't want your ass hole eating your seat they are nice to have! Sliders I would say are a must but i did it without them and it was not fun. This is rock crawling so one if not all your wheels will have rock rash on them at the end of the day it's not just driving down the road in 4wd there is technical spots where you will need to pay attention or you will have body damage. Bypasses or not they trail is still rated difficult i think it's a 6 in the book. The guys with no wheeling experience and unequipped rigs are not going to have a great time on this trail.

Here is some pictures of some of what you will be dealing with next weekend.

I know right! But not everone can deal with this on their wheels. Got to make sure the mall crawlers know what they are in for.

I don't think my TE37 would appreciate those rashes. Might have to hangout at camp or ride along. Is there a lake next to our campsite or is it at the end of the trails?
Here's the thing, I got the ok to have this 3 day weekend off. I really wanted to explore the trails and go camping but this is all New to me. Figure joining u guys to meet new enthusiasts and exploring the trails as I learn and get tips from you guys. From those pictures, I'm far from experience and don't think I can make it with some mishaps. I may be able to join but will have to stay on the side line. Or do u guys have recommendation nearby that I can explore? Any other place in the Tahoe area u have experience in for my skills and rig and camping site with no reservation? How's Ellis Peak trail by Tahoe? The only trail riding I've been to is Hollister.

Were camping right on the Yuba rive not sure how the flow is but it's a nice river. You can get to camp without an issue. I know you can take Fordyce road up to the lake I've been told it's a nice bumpy ride but that's about it. You might have a better time jumping in someones rig and running the trail with us. That way you can learn how the trucks react and how to pick your lines. Being outside of the truck watching for a few trips really helps you once you start wheeling trails.

WOW the flow rate is low! I'm most defiantly going to be crossing the creek if it's like this next week. Even if My buddy Phil comes out we will run with you guys and just continue on to Fordyce and the split.

Thanks for the info Jerry. It's been a while since I've run the trail, so I don't remember everything.

I think I remember StevensTaco running the trail with us, and thought he was stock 4x4

Btw, I have room for 2 on the trail if anyone wants to ride.

Stock 4x4 will be fine. Possible damage but overall fine. PreRunner will not work. If planning to go to Fordyce first water crossing, no stockers.

Video from a month or so ago with some FJC's I took on the trail. I posted this video earlier in the thread but will repost. FJC behind me was completely stock. He scratched up his wheels, bumpers and running boards but overall ok. Video only goes to the top of driveshaft hill unfortunately. From there is does get a little rougher but not much more. Stock 4x4 ok, PreRunner no. Damage is going to be just scratches and scuffs unless your just an idiot and take dumb lines. At the time I was on 265/75/16 street tires, did fine.

TE37 was a bad wheel choice for wheeling. Don't get me wrong, bad ass wheels but not for a wheeling rig, IMO. Ellis Peak is easy but it has been awhile since I've been. Easy for me may not be for you. Explore the lake basins/Gold lake area, lots of trails in area but stay away from Snake lake.

Hey Mike glad you made it on here. I'd lend you my other wheels but I don't think 16's clear your brakes =(

If I decide to wheel with the rest of the guys you can go with me as well. But as of right now still planning on just relaxing all weekend not sure I want my butt puckered the whole time haha

My wheels might get scratched? Well I'm out, I'll stick to the mall!

Even though I've only had my rims for about 3 months I'm prepared to cry a bit. This is what happened at Slick Rock a couple years ago for reference.
