How many miles are you's getting out of the original sc belt. I'm at 30k and have 1200 mile trip soon.

Just buy another one and keep it in the truck. I called around a few local dealers and not one had the supercharger belt in stock. That was enough for me to order one and keep it in the truck at all times. Would suck to be stranded on a trip for a couple days due to a belt.

I received a call this morning with the good news that the fit kit had arrived.I dropped mine off tonight just before closing time and it should be ready Saturday . On a side note I really liked the 2015 Camry they loan me. It feels really light on the take offs. Might up grade the wife's Corolla.

This is not a problem. All you have to do is measure the belt and then you can basically get any aftermarket belt like the Goodyear Gator belts by giving the guy at the counter your supplied measurement.

I just purchased a goodyear belt on eBay for under 15$ total. I'll just swap it out when it gets here

Is the belt super easy to change? Need tools? I'd like to get a spare but I don't keep a bunch of tools in the car.

Are these spring loaded tension based pulleys similar to GM style pulleys? I like how easy it is to change out a belt on the LS series engines.

Oh so it actually sounds like the old school style.

I might have to pick me up a blower too. I have heard the blowers have actually blown a few 1GR engines. Do you or anyone else know anything about that?

Changed mine yesterday. You have to take off the radiator fan and shroud with two screws, a bunch of rivets, and four 12mm (I think) nuts, press the tensioner arm down (I rented a tensioner tool from Advanced Auto Parts because I had nothing similar of my own, you get 100% of your money back when you return it, so you might as well), slip the belt off the pulleys, remove the tensioner all the way, I think it was 2 14mm nuts and a 12mm bolt. Then take the belt all the way off and put the new one on.

The crux for me was getting the 12mm bolt back in on the tensioner.

A few wrenches and the tensioner tool (or something similar) are all you'll need. It was my first time to ever really perform my own maintenance, so if I can do it, you can do it.

I'm really starting to debate picking up one of these blowers now. I'm just worried about some of the horror stories I've heard about the engine blowing. One guy told me he's burned a crank sleeve twice on these 1GR's when he had a blower on it. Anyone else had major engine issues?

Yeah, you take the tensioner off, or at least back out the nuts so you can slide the old one out and the new one in.

Six years and 122k explosion-free miles on mine. All I have is the TRD blower, TRD exhaust, and TRD CAI. I highly recommend snagging one up!
