Just a question as I never followed up on later year models. Do the post 2011 models still have the rearview camera screen in the rearview mirror or in the dash? And if in the dash, does it feel odd or unsafe having to look down at it when in reverse?

My 2013 has the LCD for the camera in the mirror. I believe the 2013 was the last year for that.

My wifes F150 has it in the dash. Just like checking your mirrors when passing it's simply a matter of looking at more than just the camera to remain safe when using the rear view camera.

Depends, on non-nav it's in the rear view camera. in nav it's in the touch screen. This applied to the 12'-13' For the 14'-15' it was in the touch screen radio regardless if it had the Nav or not.

Thanks for the clarification. I just feel like it would be annoying to keep looking up and down between the windows, mirrors, and the dash. But I imagine that one can get used to anything.

In my 2012 Taco, I had the camera display in the mirror and in my current 2015 Taco it is in the dash. I think the dash display is better. It is a bigger display and I look at everything anyway when backing. The only problem with the dash display is when the sun is bright and hitting a the right angle the dash display is a little hard to see. That wasn't a problem with the mirror display. I have purchased an inexpensive wireless outside temp monitor that is working fine.

In four years of daily driving I haven't gotten accustomed to having the camera's display in the rear view mirror. Probably the perfect spot for a lot of people but I have a difficult time keeping my vision from being drawn to the display.

My '15 PreRunner has a backup camera. If you are speaking of the outside ambient air temp. gauge - yeah - I don't have one. My phone has ambient air temp.

Being simple is the reason I bought my Tacoma. The backup camera in the stereo works perfect, and being in Texas it's either hot or cold so the temp doesn't matter. As far as the mpg's, I wouldn't drive a truck if they mattered. I've only had the truck 4 days and I love it

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
I love the interior minus the camera in my head unit. I liked it in the mirror and wtf happened to my temp gauge. That is all.

Otherwise the stereo sounds like garbage. . But I love the manual everything else.

    May I suggest a weather rock mounted on a 56 inch ion pulse 2T lumen LED light bar. The weather rock reveals the following;

    • If the rock is wet, it's raining.
    • If the rock is swinging, the wind is blowing.
    • If the rock casts a shadow, the sun is shining.
    • If the rock does not cast a shadow and is not wet, the sky is cloudy.
    • If the rock is not visible, it is foggy.
    • If the rock is white, it is snowing.
    • If the rock is coated with ice, there is a frost.
    • If the ice is thick, it's a heavy frost.
    • If the rock is bouncing, there is an earthquake.
    • If the rock is under water, there is a flood.
    • If the rock is warm, it is sunny.
    • If the rock is missing, there was a tornado.
    • If the rock is wet and swinging violently, there is a hurricane.
    • If the rock has white splats on it, watch out for birds.
