    Hi all.

I did an OME 885 front and icon add-a-leaf in the rear of my 2010 tacoma 4x4 quad cab. I want more lift in the rear without huge expense. I don't tow. I have a shell but its light.

I'm thinking of a 2" block to get the bed up but then I'll need to get longer shocks. Is there any kind of extension that can be bolted to the frame that pushes the top shock mount down three inches so I can add a 2" block and not have to buy new longer shocks?

Of course I'll have to get new u-bolts but I imaging someone makes an extension mount I just don't know how what to call it in a google search.

    Thanks.
    Ben

technically they could work fine in conjunction with the same length block as everything stays the same.... that said.... DONT USE A BLOCK and subsequently shock extenders.

Not true unless you put said block under your bump stop instead of the leaf springs.
They extend the length of the shock but do nothing for the length of the piston stroke thereby causing the shock to bottom out sooner.
I think they were invented by someone who didn't understand geometry.

No. In conjunction with a block, a properly sized extension (same length as block thickness) is OK as suspension uptravel amount DOES NOT CHANGE with a block, you are simply moving the axle and shock assembly down say 2 inches. The shock extension will actually be better in this case than without as you will not top out the shock as hard.

NOW.... YOU DO NOT want to run a shock extension in conjunction with a an AAL, as that increases uptravel and it is in this case where you would bottom a shock before bumpstop.

this is what i did and in all honesty aside from the appearance my leaf pack squeaks like a bed in a porn studio and unless i crawl over speed bumps makes a bang that startles nearby people. i'd love to know why this is?
