I am interested in finding a diagram of all the engine sensors (e.g. O2, knock, temperature etc) that send feedback to the ECU and all the actuators the ECU controls (e.g. oil control valve for VVT etc) as a result but Google didn't help me much. Essentially, I would like to gain an understanding of the end-to-end workflow of all the sensor inputs and outputs, if that is documented somewhere on the interwebs or if someone has a PDF.

The only thing I'm aware of that's widely available to the general public is this. You may have it.

I suppose you could start with the ECU; then back-track to all of the sensors. Digging thru all of this doc will take some work. A person who has tons of time on his hands and some flow-charting type software might be able to construct a master plan.

Their fees are not small, at least for my standards. I believe this info should be in the free domain or at least free to anyone owning a Toyota product.

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
If you planning to own this vehicle I would suggest getting full FSM.
Printed will cost you a fortune, but what you can do is get 1 day access, than seat in front of laptop and print all sections to PDF files.
    Well worth it...

Actually, that's exactly what I was thinking to do. I think $15...
