What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Pulled my LCA off today to change out bushings, man that's a bitch. Wasn't difficult pulling it or getting the sleeves out but getting the old bushing out is a bitch. Any tips? Also did inner and outer tie rods.

beads? Is that something made specifically for balancing tires or just used for that purpose?

 

Ive got a ton of that too, in fact i just recently got a bunch of big custom stripes. Had to avoid t-boning a truck in the middle of the road and well ill take oak tree branches over hitting an F 150. #Shittlebuffout

Ah ok, ive heard of doing stuff like that to balance tires. Ive got steelies for now so clamp on weights will work, but the stick-ons are crappy if u offroad. I found a stack in my dads driveway once, they must've stacked those babys on their high.

 

Not usually lead bbs. But I bet they would work. Usually airsoft or similar type is used

 

What is the largest battery that would fit in the stock location on a 1st gen?
Getting a winch soon and my battery could use an upgrade (It's ~7 years old) and I'd like to go ahead and step up a size or two.

Bottle Jack. With a proper socket or something similar to fit in there and press it out. Jack it and put some pressure on, then tap it with a hammer. They pop right out. And be careful. It's literally gonna pop out!

 

Someone posted in here a while back about some LCA bushings that dont reuse the stock sleeve, the application was for a third gen runner. i cant seem to find who makes them i thought i saved the link, guess not. Anyone know what im talkin about?

 

Yea I do. They are the white bushings.

White line I believe. But I think you still reuse the metal sleeves

Thats more than the bushings, ill get them somewhere else or run energy suspension ones.

 

I got the inert sleeve out it's cleaning the old bushing out that's a pain.

That's what I should've done. Though if I knew it was going to be like this I could have borrowed tools from work that would have made it soooooo much easier.

 

Put in Led in my headlights so much better the halogen and hid.

Are these the plastic ones? It may be easier just to get oem metal ones do they don't snap
