So it's looking like the Superduty 60 isn't going to work for me.

There's no room on the short side for link brackets and coilover mounts. And I don't really want to weld to the cast.

You can cut the cast leaf perch back about 2.5 inches. That what vancity4x did with his.

Radius arms are literally the worst thing ever IMO. They are several steps behind a 3 link, and even more steps behind a 4 link.

Damn good price! Its an easy swap, cutting the brackets off is the worst part. Rockauto had the cheapest price for a Spartan locker, you can also get a 12bolt mini spool to work. I should have went mini spool and may just swap thirds r to f when the time comes. Brakes are easy to get to work, ignore the writeups online that say you need an adjustable prop valve, new master and a residual valve. I'm using the stockmaster and the lspv as an adjustable prop valve and it stops on a dime with better pedal feel than the stock brakes. Jantz makes a load bolt kit for them as well, I may install that as well.

Why not? Heat the cast up where your tacs go, if you don't have a oxy just start welding, the heat from welding will get it hot enough not to crack. If you get a crack just grind it out and lay another down. I did 2 passes on mine, came out fine.

Imo I'd weld the tubes regardless of cutting pearch or not, same with my 14bolt. Even tho it would be very unlikely especially with the little power I have, prevents axle tubes from spinning.

That's a must do with a 14bolt! My buddy spun the tubes on his first run out, then welded them and spun them again!! He's now building a truss that ties it into the pumpkin.

I'm considering just grabbing a D60 from work and having it retubed. Since the axle is free I wouldn't mind spending a few hundred to have it retubed.

Ya I've seen quite afew posts on Pirate about it, usually on higher Hp trucks but guess anything is possible, especially with a older axle. I wasn't going to chance it tho not welding mine and welding cast isn't really a big deal, get it nice and hot and will turn out fine.

IIRC, someone did the above technique (on RST I believe) and despite welding it, the tube separated from the pumpkin on the trail.

Enjoy. I think I will go this route when it comes time for more power. Turn the volume up

My upper link mounts are wider than my oil pan and clear the motor just fine. But then again I also triangulated the lower quite a bit more.

and that right there is why not only did I weld my axle tubes but I also have a track bar that is mounted in part to the diff it's self. need to build a pinion guard. did not realize how much I would stuff that thing into rocks.
