It should be fun! Going to clean up my bumper light bar lights wiring as well. For some reason the previous owner who installed them used 3 relays....


My little paint cabinet works well! I kept the back piece I cut out. Just pop it in, paint the front, then take it out, put a large piece of cardboard over the front, and paint the back. Saves me from having to paint outside in the wind, and keeps everything in the garage paint free!

 

I got mine today as well. Hopefully installing tomorrow, where did you run the cabeling?

 

Straight down the windshield there's a small gap to tuck it in. Kinda lol, it works !

Couple questions...

Are the single bolts on each side strong enough to keep from coming loose and keep the bar from moving up or down?

Also, the drivers side bolt has bottomed out and will not go any tighter, anyone else have this issue?

 

i don't have mine yet but..... those bolts are made for a certain amount of spacing with the stock brackets. you may want to pick up shorter bolts or add washer/spacer to take up the gap.

 

My bolts threaded all the way down nice and tight. No issues with that. And the bar is super secure. No movement at all

 

And your wire from the led bar is long enough to run the whole length of the window ??

 

Yes the wore runs all the way down. I ran mine down the drivers side, just used a little silicone and got it snug to the weather stripping. Ran it down under the litree plastic corner piece at the bottom of the windshield, then through the rubber grommet thing on the firewall

Man my wire directly from the bar wasn't long enough. I had to trail the wire harness up the window. Or else the plug itself would be halfway down the window wtf!

 

That's weird. Could you just cut the connector and hardwire it? Then just heat shrink it to look good?

 

I'm assuming the are all the same size wires?

Hmmm, maybe they just had a short one and didn't realize it? You could also take it out of the bar itself and extend it there

 

In the bag with hardware come 2 wachers and 2 pressure wachers those should go between the bolt and brackets so its nice and tight.

Wire from the bar aren't always that long, you can connect the led bar directly to the wire harness without the connector if you want to run it down the windshield or you can run it throught the door threw the weatherstrip into the cab.

 

Hmmm I will have to look again, I only saw 4 small washers for the mounts, but I will check again.

How can you run it through the door weather stripping? I think I'd rather do that
