    Yea those look like retros..

    But I guess they aren't.

You could do real retros. Logan does them and has done several for our headlights.

Or there is an LED headlight I have been eyeing. 500 bucks though.

Damn. 500 bucks is way out of my price range. I've been putting a bunch of money into this truck already. I'll just suffer through the dim lights. They're not unusable just not as good as id like.

The way to get better light output would be to do a projector retrofit and u could run hids or there are some good high powered led bulbs that would work too. The issue with urs is probably how the light is dispersed not the amount of light being produced. Tacomaboss had some pre-retrofitted lights but the way the light was scattered was not good. Do some reading about projector retrofits. your best bet for now price wise is probably to go back to stock sealed beams.

Oh for heavens sake, I forgot to put the damn rubber gasket boot thing on the new lbj. Is it bad to pop the ball joint out and add the gasket? Looks like an important piece to keep elements out, so I want to put it in there.

For those of you guys replacing your lbj, what are the sighns they need to be replaced? I ask because i get a lot of steering wheel play when going over 40mph and im about 50% that its my lbj. Would i have to replace them or is it something else?

I'm no expert but that sounds like could be your rack bushings. I changed mine out because I use them hard from time to time, and pretty sure these are the originals at 12 years/90k miles. One boot was torn and was puking grease. Decided to just do them both, might as well.

No it's grease. No ps fluid goes in there. If there is..then you have major issues.

Yea your fine. Doesn't hurt it.

Every 90k you should replace them. If the boots are torn. Replace them.

And steering play could be the ball joints but most likely steering rack bushings.

Wheelers has the energy poly bushing kit here for your rack: and then I would check with camelback toyota for the ball joints. I got both shipped to my door for like 180. My local dealer wanted 250... Definitely worth getting from the camelback online store.
