When you really think about it. Brave pilots went forth on the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo. Trusted their lives on engineers. So why not on a gen 3?

Because they didn't put drum brakes on the rear of the Apollo spacecraft. :fart:

I was not part of the engineering program on the Apollo. Therefore I submit my lack of knowledge with said forth braking issues. That being said, my best guess is the Apollo spacecraft braking issues had no drum braking involvement. IIRC it had something to do with parachutes. Thus we are in agreement....?

They didn't need a diesel engine to power that spacecraft to ludicrous speed either....

Maybe but she tells it like it is! Hey she liked my truck when she first saw it. Thankfully because we had to drag the kids an hour away to get it.

Yes. I've been on these forums long enough to know that the only way to distinguish a good vehicle from a bad one is the presence of rear drums. I'm sure the astronauts also knew that no drums = high quality.

Okay here's a bit of a stretch. The first stage of the Saturn V rockets, used for the moon launches, were powered by RP-1, which is a filtered form of kerosene. I'm pretty sure kerosene is the same as #1 diesel. So they kinda were diesel engines.

Maybe if the whole front end is black, it might help it...like on this '16 Ranger...and in mag grey. Ford did a a hexangular grill too, did a little better take on it, not so huge... IMO

Kinda been waiting to see what the SR's will be...they come with an unpainted front now...there is this, not sure if it is an SR or not...
