Thoughts on 37s

I just looked it up. Backspace is 7 inches. You'd need a 3.5" spacer, at least.

 

I have 1.25" spacers in the front now to clear my spindles for a grand total of 2" over in the front and am not running spacers in the rear because I'm like you. Don't particularly care for spacers. But they would LOOK cool.

 

Oh yea 3.5 is right. I did that math in my head. Oops

 

I wonder how hard it would be to cut out the old centers and weld in new ones to 3.5" backspacing. I could get access to a plasma cutter and welder and possibly a machine shop.

 

A lot of people have do it but mostly on trail rigs. The problem seems to be getting it perfectly centered

 

That's what scares me. Welding in the mounting surface at home and planing on running 70 mph down the highway.

 

My standards are nice and rusted. I WD-40/sanded them and reprinted them and paint just fell off in a few weeks.

 

I have a 2" lean on the PS with the expos

 

I'll have to get someone to messure for me while I'm sitting in the drivers seat so see how mine leans.

Crawled all over Cap's truck this past weekend - pictures don't do the firewall work any justice... Eddy did some superb welding and seeing his truck in person really sealed the deal for me with where I'm going with mine.

The part that sucks about those wheels is that they are 16.5" rims, which means your tire options are severely limited and will only get smaller.

Well if your planing on running the 37's that were mounting on them previously it's no problem. Otherwise your correct, not much else out there other than interco

 

The good news is wheels and tires are still cheaper than a set of 5 tires from most places. So if the surplus dries up and you can't use the wheels again you really aren't out anything

 

Yea but those tires suck! They blowout on the street and are terrible offroad. Might as well save your pennies for a few more months and get some decent tires and cheap steel rims.

They make pitbull rockers in 37 that fit 16.5 rims, but they are far from cheap lol!

 

You think the Military tires suck? I have the BFG Baja and they are a fantastic tire. Every bit as good as the KM2 offroad, and much more tough sidewalls. The Goodyear take offs were tough too, just not good in the mud or snow.
