Haha me too. I should be able to pull it out of the garage in front wheel drive this weekend. I've still gotta shorten the sliders too

Haha nice! how are you going to shorten them? Are you just gunna chop a section out of the center and weld the two ends together?

Well someone's actually already shortened them one time lol. There's about an inch I can take out without changing the shape, idk if it will be enough though

    119
119"-120". It's hard to measure by yourself lol. When I get it all welded up I'll pull the wheels off one side to be as accurate as possible

I'd say it's just a little bit shorter haha

Kinda noobish question, but what does shortening the wheelbase that much do?

It makes navigating trails easier. A longer wheel base makes tighter trails harder. The longer the wheel base, the wider the turning radius. Sometimes it's helpful with getting over obstacles, but not always. I like a 110-115" wheel base for my trail rigs. The only bad thing about a short wheel base is, too short and it's tippy.

    Truck looks good too

What he said haha. With wheelbase the magic number is around 118" but I can't quite get there because the tires would be in the cab. I was at 127" and 28" frame height. It didn't turn for shit so I would always have to swing wide and often back up a few times to make a tight turn. The other thing is that on steep climbs or ledges I was so long that my front would start to flatten out before my rear would even hit the ledge and even at 28" frame height I was dragging my belly and driveshaft on everything so by bringing the rear forward it will start to climb much sooner.

Hopefully some of that makes sense. It's much easier to explain in person.

Well I was making good progress and have everything ready to weld and then I ended up working backwards haha.

Sounds like you've been following Jon's build a little too closely then lol

Been following this, I think you'll be happier cutting that flat bed off those taillight sections were nowhere near symmetric and it made the whole rear look wonky. I'm sure you can do better! Gonna look badass that short! Glad you did that!

Haha I had a beer in one hand and a sawzall in the other and that's exactly who I thought about.

Yeah it would have tracked just fine before but it would have been hard to build off of in the future. There's going to be some tube coming soon and the closer it is to straight the easier it will be to get everything even. If I would have left it I would have had to eyeball everything going off the cab and that would have sucked
