Okay tube sock master!!! You got me. Most jet aircraft are powered by some type of refined kerosene. Thus why it stinks to high heaven. However Saturn V rockets were powered by hydrogen/oxygen mix. A Saturn V launch never smelled as bad as following a straight 6 jimmy diesel down a 50 mile logging road. Just sayin'

!!!I'm baffled as to why they put in a Honda Civic styled E-Brake & removed the Driver's side A-Pillar off-road handle...!!!

I use the A-Pillar handle to climb back in my truck when on a steep graded hill, after checking clearance etc.

I do like the tailgate fin spoiler, new headlights, 6 speed options, & 3.5 Atkinson's Cycle though.

Ford has always had better vehicle designers...that just the way it goes...but too bad their vehicles don't...go...

    Hey, my brother's F-150 4x4 never met a mall it couldn't crawl.

Technically, he's never taken it off-road because, I've repeatedly explained to him, boat ramps are technically still roads.

Maybe but if I buy a 3rd Gen it will be option'd out. I think the biggest mistake is the headlights coming out of the body rather than staying in line like those bug eye minivans.
I disagree, the Tacoma has always looked much better than the F150 or ranger. Need we look at what everybody else offered in 2005?

Seems to me the E-Brake is finally in the proper place, the in the dash or the pedal e-brakes seem odd. Much easier to do e-brake turns... ;)

I don't need much for options, even the base SR's have too much for me.

2005? I dunno, they all kinda look similar to me.

A lot of not bitching going on here lol.

BTW, whoever it was that said there was no US tour, on another 3rd gen forum someone (didn't screen shot it) mentioned they had been hired for a publicity tour with Toyota for the Tacoma in September. Often US companies will roll something out to the Canadian market as a test audience to refine their plan with some real world experience before rolling it out to the USA. This is just par for the course.

    Ha ha!

I thought the front end was growing on me...(nope, trying to force myself to like it...just isn't happening...shouldn't have to force oneself to like something ya know...)

Toyota should rename it Butter Face....

Meh, big grills are just something that's in right now. Wait seven years and this truck will get the update that makes it look badass. The 05-11 Tacoma looked OK, but I always hated the upside down frowny face grill. The 12-15 looks the way the truck should of in the first place. This truck will go through the same cycle.

Hell, my knee-grow...I ain't getting any younger! :D Kinda tired of waiting on Toyota...they always seem to miss the mark one way or another.

Gonna take a good look at the diesel Colorado when it hits the dealer floor, it is a lot closer to filling the needs and wants than the Tacoma is. Reliability is a concern...but hey, if it is too fussy, just dump it before the warranty runs out.

A few days ago our local GM dealer got a grey and a white Z71 DCLB and DCSB in. I'm sorry, but they look like ass stock too. That Equinox front end coupled with the terrible body lines on the high sided box made me want to puke.

When I looked at them with the wife the truck was in the lineup beside a bunch of Silverado's and I didn't step back to get a good view of the side view. Hideous, and you can't fix the body lines or box with a quick aftermarket update.

Most trucks look awful without a little bit of aftermarket suspension...and I always toss suspension on my trucks.

Look fine to me....waaaay better than the Taco, body lines seem to flow better, and not so mish-mashed together. I find the '16 Toy hard to look at. The Collie just looks cleaner to me. Don't feel the need to try and hide the front end, like I do with the Taco's Butterface. Plus the diesel seems to have the specs I want.

That's a view from the front like Chevy had the truck lined up when we went for a test drive. Directly from the side I hate the look.

I throw lifts on my trucks too, but no one is making armour, bumpers, sliders, etc for the Colorado yet which makes the lift pretty pointless for me.

Anyways, my point was I'm not a fan of either trucks look on the curb stock, but I trust there will be easier options to get the new Tacoma to be a looker over the Cheby.

Just need a vehicle to haul my crap to the trail head or lake. Looks aside, thinking the oil burner Collie will yank around a Four Wheel Camper and my moto trailer better than the Taco. Pretty much what the mid-size truck market is aimed at, guys like me that need something to haul their weekend warrior big boy toys, yet want a mild manner vehicle for daily use.

I would build all of that stuff myself, however...I just need the a little suspension for running down Forest Service roads, I don't wheel the cages too hard anymore. Why I ride dirt bikes....no matter how much crap you toss on a truck, it will never beat a bike off road. The Trophy Trucks have finally over-alled the Baja 1000...are finally beating the bikes, but you have to spend $650,000++ (for the vehicle alone, that doesn't include all the support you need to run one of those), and that is in the open desert...

For under $10K you can do this, if you have the skillz... ;)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8l_-tqDCy44

Thought of getting a diesel Transit and have a 4WD/Camper conversion...I kinda miss my VW Westy, thought it would be a great replacement. Not bad looking for a Van, either....I mean, it is still pretty fugly, but didn't get hit nearly as hard with the ugly stick as the Taco did... :D

I dunno, problem is (other than price) once you do the camper conversion, you're kinda stuck with it, where-as with a truck camper you can separate them...a bit more versatile, me thinks..and can be sold separately when the time comes....or just hang on to the camper and swap it on another truck.

Damn Nice video! Makes me miss my Husky. I had a XC250 2 stroke I raced in the desert. I wish I never sold it but with wife and kids probably best I did. The 2ng gen 4.0's haul and pull no problem, albeit its no diesel.
