Turn your steering wheel all the way to the right, extending the driver side end of the rack shaft out as far as it will go. Clean off the old stuff as best as you can and slap a finger full of the moly stuff on the rack teeth. Spread a little on the back (smooth) side to lube the rack guide. Don't get carried away. There is an air passage that allows air pressure to equalize between the 2 rack bellows further inboard that can get plugged.

    Reserected from the dead.

I would save time and money and just buy new headlight assemblies. Something like $35 each. They can be found pretty easy on eBay, Amazon, rock auto websites.

Hmm. Well even if I got it out with the whole outer tube/wings I'd still have to separate it from the outer tube to get to the part that needs welding, but I don't know how to get the bolt or whatever it is out.

Maybe there is a panel or opening to get at it once removed.

Maybe but I feel like I can pretty much see the whole thing without removing the whole assembly.

Well I found my steering clunk.. My driver side UCA bolt wobbles back and forth a little, I'm gunna try and tighten it but I think it's messed up from all the accidents this truck has been in. Hmm..

Edit: the long bolts were pretty loose, tightened it up hopefully the clunk goes away.

    Clunk is officially gone.. Yes!

Yeah, that's weird? Hope you used loctite. I used a metric shit ton of that stuff this weekend haha. Might make stuff harder to pull apart later, but at least it isn't (hopefully) gonna fall off.

Btw I feel a little bind at one point when sweeping the teering wheel if not moving. Generally I don't do this, so it doesn't bug me, but is this normal? Or something I should address? Have noticed it a few times on the trail, but I just back up or adjust accordingly. Might notice it more since bj replacemeny, but hard to tell since that whole area of my truck is under a microscope right now...

I didn't, I'm gunna take it apart and put some on though, good idea.
Best way to find stuff is to watch everything move as someone else turns the wheel back and forth.

Took a whole inch of preload off my coilovers, rides a lot better and looks a lot better also. Noticed my passenger inner cv boot is torn so tomorrow night I'm going to throw in one of my spare cvs as well as some seat covers :spy: post pics tomorrow

It's amazing how just an inch will change the ride quality so much. I need to do it to mine but I like the height it's at :( probably time for a revalve so I can keep my height and comfort

How hard is it to take the fenders off and on? Would I need to buy any consumable parts/clips/snaps or anything?

6 or 7 bolts, no clips. Easier without fender flares, should take even the noobest of noobs 10 minutes per side
