    Sorry no pictures were taken.
I drove down a level b road( unmaintained dirt) this weekend to explore a nearby river.
I looked ahead and saw an enormous mud pond, i hesitated to go through it, but the left side of the trail "looked" do-able. so off i went.
i put the truck in 4low and hammered through it no problem.
Realizing that stopping wasnt an option anywhere, i needed to turn around somewhere after a half mile of good sloppy mud(some spots were packed clay) i tried to stay on the hard packed as much as possible.
Finally I saw a path to the right that looked hard packed, but had to go through the nasty mud to get over to it.
My truck just stopped dead in watery mud about a foot deep. and i killed the engine.
Next i tried the rear- diff lock which got me no where. So then i got out covered my self in mud, and tried to put bark and sticks around the tires to get traction but to no avail.
i walked about a mile to a nearby house. luckily there was a farmer near by, that was hesitant, but willing to assist.
But he didnt want to get his tractor out to do it.
By this time it was pitch black out, and he said lets try getting it out with my truck.
The last thing we needed was to get both trucks stuck, but thats the only way he would help.
Luckily a police officer from Michigan was in the area to buy a dog from this farmer and he drove his truck down too.
We drove down to the first mud pit and the farmer said, no way.
Its too dark and it is way too muddy. We walked about a hlaf mile to my truck to investigate.
Apparently the cop from Michigan got tired of waiting for us as we saw his headlights coming our way. He was not afraid.
He got his truck in front of mine on the hard packed, tied a chain from his rear bumper to the front of my truck, and pulled me right out.
It was awesome and I was soo thankful.
then I got stuck again, so the cop reversed back and tied a rope to my truck again.
he said we should leave the rope on and just plow through it together and he would help pull the whole way.
i was too afraid to shift as we were going through even worse mud than the path I had taken before, because i didnt want to lose momentum, so i just kept it in second gear, and let the motor scream, following the cop fishtailing all over the place and through the deepest mud hole yet.
We made it out, and my truck was so covered in mud! i usually kick my boots off before i even get into my truck, and keep it nice and new.
But yesterday, i didnt care. My steering wheel, shifter , door panels floor, were covered in mud. i was just thankful to get it out.
I spent an hour power washing the undercarriage and outside of the truck. Its still a little dirty, but hopefully got the worst of it.
BFG Rugged Trails suck in deep mud in case you didnt know...I have never gone muddin before, and may not again. i will stick with 4 wheelin in the snow. I realized that you never see commercials of trucks going through mud. Only dirt roads, rocky roads and snow. It was a lesson learned. hopefully my truck wasnt abused too bad.

My Girlfriend took one picture on her cell before it got dark. Maybe I can retrieve it tonight.
Like I said I tried to get it clean. The hardest places to clean were inside the fenders, inside the wheels, and on top of the skid plate.
i was cleaning at night, but it looks pretty clean. Sort of.
any tips for cleaning under the truck without lifting it in the air? Any special places to clean I may not be aware of?
thanks for the comments guys. keep em coming. Even if you just want to say, "nice goin'...Jack ass!"

Yeah it was fun, but I feel bad for my truck. It definately handled the abuse well, as nothing is broken or sounds wrong. Everything is working fine.
im gonna try and post a pic of it stuck, before iit was totally covered in mud. Wish I could have video's the whole experience. Definately a lot of hootin and hollering. Kinda like the Dukes boys!

rugged fails suck i did the same thing as you when i got my truck, never again will i try that, not until i get some km2s. Lesson to be learnt by anyone with a trd off-road, just cause it says offroad and the rugged fails "look neat", they cant do any sort of mud whether its deep or not.

i'd say you were stuck... if your gonna do that type of muddin, i would have bought some m/t tires over a/t tires. being as i have a prerunner (coulnt afford the 4x4 at the time), i am rockin the A/T tires and i only go mud diving if i have a 4x4 with me:cool: to pull me out, most of the time i get thru just about everything as the 4x4 do, other times i bury my self up to the rear diff (on the beach, just the spots where you come out on the beach, once im out there i'm pretty good unless i get ballsy and try to floor it haha never good thing to do). :D part of having a truck is getting stuck and dirty (well thats what i think)... if you dont get stuck your not muddin lol again my input on muddin

Great pic man. i see we have similar taste in trucks and bikes! Awesome!
Yeah i was smiling. I was a little pissed, but getting mad doesnt help the situation. but i was worried for awhile that my truck would be sitting there all week. i was lucky I found someone to help.

they were the stock tires. i havent upgraded yet. Nor did I plan on mudding. i thought it was a little messy, but had no idea. After I got out, I cant believe I made it as far as I did.

Dont feel bad, years back in my 88 pick-up i slid sideways into a watery mud hole up to my passenger door handle. By the time we finally got the truck out it wouldnt start any more. my computer and radio amp were under dirty water, in fact had water in about a 1/4 of my cab, tilted about 45 degrees. had to be towed out of the forest and back home. wife was up set because i got back late and we had dinner plans - never made dinner. pulled the seats and carpet, to clean the interior, got some avionics cleaner for the ecu and radio amp. let them dry out overnight. put everything back together. the radio amp was blown, but the truck finally started after a few tries!! of coarse it blew out a hell of alot of smoke for a few minutes, had a few of my neighbors come over to see if everything was ok. But i was shock it started. ran alittle shitty for a day or so, probably some water in places i couldnt find. but after that , ran normal. but is i was shitting my pants thinking i was going to have to but a new ecu.

the only words of advice i can provide would be BFG mud terrains, have them on my old 88 wrangler and they are damn near unstoppable in mud. I bet you would have had no trouble if you had them. What kind of truck pulled you out and what kind of tires did he have? I really miss wheeling and beating on trucks:(

Yea, looks like a little much.

Did you try the A-TRAC button? I had a situation like that with absolutely no traction in the rear and the atrac managed to give the slipping front wheels enough traction to get me going.

Stop everything! Go out right now and check your air filter. Odds are it is RUINED! Replace it ASAP and make sure the airbox is clean on the inside!!! I too went out in mud and muddy water last year for my first adventure (but I didn't get stuck :p HA!) Also, get the engine compartment as clean as possible as soon as you can, otherwise the mud will stain everything.
You may need to apply a little bit of belt dressing if your belt starts squeeling in the near future.
Next time bring a camera or it really didn't happen! :D
