Hey guys, new to the forum here just have a couple questions about my brakes for the experts. So I got my brakes done by les Schwab about a year ago. About four months ago the brake started feeling very mushy and I had to step harder and harder on the pedal to make the pickup stop. Not very happy with les Schwab I went to a local shop I trust. He told me the rotors were glazed over so he replaced the rotors and the pads. He said the pads had lots of life left but they weren't gripping the rotors. So he replaced everything and adjusted the brakes and everything was great for a while ... Now it starting to happen again... The brakes are slowly starting to fade and it's getting harder to stop. Is it shitty brake pads? Possibly bad lines? Need help guys!

Do you know what brand of parts were used?

Where do you live and drive? Some areas are more demanding of brakes then others, same goes with driving habits.

I don't other than they guy said he used OE equipment. But the brakes lasted six years without an issue with OE pads. I live out west but it's mostly stop and go town driving which I know is hard on things but I drive like a grandma and start braking way back ...

I don't think Les Schwab will replace just the front pads, I believe they use pre-loaded calipers, which adds another variable into the equation. I very much doubt they use OE equipment, probably an aftermarket "OE equivalent". Did you check your brake fluid level before taking it back in?

Right I think that's what they did and the second guy just replaced the pads ... I only checked the level after the second guy worked on it and it's full ... It's just weird that it worked great for about 2 months and now it's doing it again ... Are these guys just using the cheapest pads available to increase their markup? Maybe the lines are going bad?
