Made a corner truss out of 1/4" plate, that tube ain't going anywhere now.

allpro long travel, shackle flip with ome dakars, cruisin offroad bumpers and sliders, 4.88 gears with arb's front and rear, budbuilt skids.
I'm wondering if that reinforcement you put in will clear the frame at full bump and articulation.

transmission crossmembers are a real bitch to build when there is a ton of links/exhaust/driveshaft in the way.

^^ holy mother of god that's beautiful

I mocked it up under the truck, it should fit fine. Reason I went with this over a full top truss like tmr's which would take up lot more space

sweet but I think if I ever end up going with bigger axles im just going to have to start over and not use a truck for that build.

It fits Dana 60. Gotta convert to Rockwell outers though. It's what the good rock bouncers are using. Ouverson knuckles and outers with 14 bolt centers or some go with a 10" center on a custom housing. But, the good ones all use the Ouverson parts!! MMM sexy

If I haven't broke my 30 spline stuff doing 4 wheel burnouts on 42's then I just don't see the need for that in our application.

I wasn't suggesting anyone switch to it.... 4 wheel burnouts doesn't mean shit, there's no traction there, nothing to break. A dana 30 can do a 4 wheel burnout. Breakage occurs at anytime, but mostly from when you've got spin and then ya don't. I was simply posting a bad ass photo of some bad ass SAS shit, basically why I created this thread.

hey don't get me wrong I think it's bad ass stuff and a very cool comparison. but don't discredit me when I say 4 wheel burn out because they where being done in moab and there was lots of hopping and what not. Basically I was looking for an excuse to by the 35 spline CRV axles at the Moab 4x4 outpost. But never broke so guess I don't have those and don't need to pay off a credit card.

If it were me, I would take the gusset/stiffener all the way to the top of the rectangular tube. You're also going to be relying solely on the weld between the rec. tube and the frame to support the rear of the leafs. You might want to consider wrapping some plate around the rec. tube back to the frame rail.

    I'm a fan of overkill though. :D

Would be better if you had a way to make them one piece. But if not, that looks like it would work just fine.
