    Anyone use a mic with their GoPro? With the kids in school and having shows and stuff, the wifey wants to see better audio out of the camera.

    Well, after recording my son's summer theater performance, using the stock house with the skeleton backing on, I have ordered some new stuff.

    SRP Wide open mount
    GoPro Frame mount
    usb-mini to 3.5 mm adapter
    Rode Videomic Go
    SRP Tray Flexible Arms

    Did put together a decent video and the audio was better than I thought it would be, but the clapping around the camera is so loud compared to the stage performance. Hopefully the shotgun style mic will help with that. I know if I had some editing skills and better software I might be able to adjust the clapping or pull it out, but that isn't in my tool box.

    I decided to do an audio test with my new mount and mic. and put a video together to compare them all. I hope y'all find it helpful.
    1. GoPro standard housing with skeleton back
    2. GoPro Frame housing
    3. GoPro Frame housing with Rode VideoMic
    4. GoPro Frame Housing with Rode VideoMic and 80Hz filter turned on
    (I ordered the Rode VideoMic Go from Amazon and they sent the full version, lucky me)

    Which Format do you guys like better? All the title screens and all the same distance in a row, or the second video with the full product test at once.

    Only the 2nd time I have used the skeleton back, and the 1st time for the Frame house. It was delivered by Amazon this afternoon.

    Never really thought about capturing audio until this last week. Previously just played with finding the right song to play with my video.

    Still learning to edit.

    On the topic of frame housings, I had a friend of mine 3D print me one and I love it! Great for mounting inside the cab of the truck because you can leave it plugged into the charger while getting full audio coverage

    Not much. He didn't charge me anything because he just loves using the printer. He printed me the pole mount also!

    Are you picky on color, or do you want him to just use whatever he has at home? Mine is bright green.

    He said he will look into it. Someone has to have made the program in order for him to be able to print it.
