I have used Oxford Recycling in the past. They are really high priced also. When Jeffco had the Rooney road facility life was good. Most loads were only $15-20 and they were not as picky

Mountain states wood recyclers would probably take it. They've taken old cedar panels for me before. They take most yard waste as well, grass clipping, tree branches. They are on Radcliffe just west of Santa fe. Fees are way more reasonable then the transfer stations. My 5x10 trailer piled 5' high was like $30. If it's pressure treated you may want to call them first.

Don't want to burst your bubble but it's impossible for diamonds to form in Basalt, if you found any actual diamonds they would of been in a kimberlite. What you most likely found in the basalts could have been a clear form of olivine (rare but possible) or volcanic glass. If you take the mineral you found test its hardness, diamonds have a hardness of 10, glass is 6.5 and steel is 5.5-6.5, therefore a diamond scratches basically anything. Sorry I'm a geologist, It is possible for diamonds to form from impact of a asteroid, however I don't think it's necessary to explain how that happens. If you did find impact diamonds way to go man.

If I were you I would four wheel and camp around Silverton (i.e. black bear pass, ophir pass and eureka area) on the 3rd and 4th; watch the fireworks in Silverton, its a huge gathering of people from SW colroado and the best fireworks in SW CO. Then go to those places after, you won't be disappointed, just don't expect a camping site anywhere if you show up on the 4th.

Thanks for the info! We will be up in Crested butte around the fourth head down to Silverton on the 5 or 6. We are hoping to see some wild flowers but with all the snow it might not be possible

I hate red light runners. Me and an FJ almost got hit this morning. Fj would have ended up t-boning him and I would have gotten t-boned by the ford. We all stopped within a foot of each other.
