    First Tacoma, finally!!
Hello all finally got an 011 sr5. Luv the truck. Can someone tell me what the indents forward of the rear wheel on the sides of the cargo bed are for? They have slots in the bottom, I assume they are for attaching something, but what they are the only thing I can't figure out, manual says nothing about them
    Thanks

You talking about the area to lay a 2x6 in so you can haul a full size sheet of plywood supported?

no, there are two sections in the sides probably 6x8 inches, didn't actually measure, they are like small box indents that are forward of the rear wheels on each side about 3-4 inches deep with slots one the bottom, left side has small clip in one of the slots, they are about half way up on each side
    Thanks

Talking about the thing on top of the wheel well?

That's what I was talking about earlier with the 2x6 or actually more like a 5/4" deck plank so you can lay a sheet of plywood in the bed. There's a smaller one behind the wheel well. Both of mine look like the rear one on your truck because I have the long bed. The slot in it is probably so water can drain out.

That's just to put stuff in. Something like bungee's or tie down straps. Just storage cubbies.

Little storage pockets for tie downs, gloves etc.Kinda useless but somewhat effective.

It keeps things from rattling around all over the bed. Keeps you from having to climb in the bed to get a tie down strap too.

Hmmmm ok, without covers can't imagine what would stay in there. And there is nothing inside the pockets to attach a strap or anything too.

My straps and bungees ride in a 20oz bottle coke crate in the bed of mine. Slings all over the place. Makes a great conversation starter whenever someone new gets in the truck. Always get WTF was that? lol
