Agreed on the leaf pack.. I'm on my OEM 3 leaf with the Wheeler's 3 leaf progressive AAL and with my SnugTop XV (220 lbs +/-) it's sitting level with my front at 1.75.. so any load gives me reverse rake.

One day when I'm able to swing it, I'll upgrade to Dakars.

Yeah I'm waiting to hear from allpro when they get standards in stock mid july.

My rear end with the cap and stuff cannot keep up with just 6112 in front

    Thanks for the replies @PeeRunner & @TacoDeLaPlaya
I didn't think the 5160 did anything to lift the rear, are you saying I'd need longer U-bolts and brake lines for the AAL?

Yes the aal will add maybe 2 inches. 2 inches of lift is where you need extended shocks like a 5165. So really you can go either way but I bet you will want a full leaf pack eventually then you don't need new shocks at that point.

Ubolts I think are needed to fit the extra leaves to the pack. Maybe someone else can confirm.

Brake lines bc the the hubs move away from vehicle with lift

looks very nice, do you mind me asking about what those shocks cost? I live in a place where ebay is the only place to buy stuff ;like that so I don't get in places to see what stuff costs. and I am not sure what the best things to go with are. I have always had Toyota pickups but until 2 weeks ago I had a 89 and 91 still do but I bought my uncles 05 crew cab and absolutely love it(at least as much as my wife)lol she don't read this im good.but on here im slowly finding out what to do and what parts to buy. I have never had the money or time to play with fixing them up but im going to make the time for my new toy. thanks for any info yours looks very nice

I'm a little curious about the 6112 also, performance wise, especially when the only rear setup available is the 5160, which a lot of people complain about the valving, both in it and the front 5100. Why isn't there a new shock for the rear? This leads me to believe, like someone said earlier, that the 5100 and 6112 have the same valving characteristics. The shock is probably a lot more smooth than a 5100, and dissipates heat better. But for close to $700 just for the front's, that's approaching extended travel territory. Purchasing extended travel shocks or even a nice coilover on Black Friday would bring it very close. If Bilstein had come out with a new rear shock to match the 6112, or an extended length for someone wanting a leaf pack, then that would be the tits.

The 5165 is the rear that you can get in different lengths. Oh and if I set my 6112's on the top setting I'd have just over 3" of lift most likely.

I own 6112 and the shock behaves very differently than the 5100. And the valving is proprietary so who knows what it is for either of them unless you have a shock dyno. This shock is also larger than any 2.5 out there just no resis and no adjusters on compression. I think it is a great value.

I understand this, but the 5160 and 6112 are probably valved the same, but the 6112 behaves better due to the increased size of the shock. I'm saying is that it is close to the price of a fully adjustable coilover. Don't full shock setups on trucks have the same valving front and rear?

Sure the prices are close for a basic adjustable.

As far as valving. The weights over each wheel, amount of travel, and driver preference all dictate the valving.

How do y'all think 6112 compares to the FOX 2.0 set up... seems like they are fairly close in price what about performance?
