Yea you really only get one of the other. You can get a leaf pack that will perform superbly with all your weight, but will be crap when it's just the shell and dogs...or you can do it the other way around. In your case I'd lean towards airbags.

Airbags won't give me the flexy twist that I need for some of the trails I frequent.

I know, it's something to ponder. The upside to the Pro is the "soft" front suspension. Doesn't have great droop btw. But, I like the on road manners and mostly the off-road manners.

I figure I'll reinsert the overload spring and see how that goes. It's also another excuse to upgrade components. Ubolt flip flop is always helpful.

Since I was a "manager" I had every other Saturday off. That left me with weekends off for the most part. That was nice. But the fractional department organization and ineffectual management from my bosses left us with fiefdoms within the entire department. This sucked. Wholesale was my deal. Great gig for making friends at shops everywhere. Crap gig from a profitability standpoint. I would get reamed almost every morning by the GM with his complaints of razor thin profits. That's the name of the game with wholesale though.

yeah that doesnt sound like fun.

We ran through about 115k in monthly profit figures. 70% was wholesale which was nice. Service department would beat us up for a discount for years until we finally proved they werent discounting their tags. Got the service manager ousted and things evened out. But my awesome manager left for bigger/better (Audi in SF) and the place went to hell so i left

It was the other way round for us. Service practically dictated what our parts policies were. Service is where our profit was. Wholesale had about 7-9% profit margin. Lots of sheet metal heavily discounted to compete with aftermarket. Hell, I piloted a data integration project with body shops where the estimates were uploaded into a platform that identified all parts(aftermarket requests and all), supplied part numbers and allowed me to sell the part below cost to compete with the aftermarket. That program killed my departments profitability.

definitely sounds like a poorly ran dealership then. To be able to pull 2 comma figures a month. Needs to be ran better internally for relations. Sucks.

Agreed. Walked away and never looked back. The corporate guy for the portal software called me on my cell for about 6 months afterwards asking for help with software integration issues. I finally told him to either hire me locally as a contractor or pound sand. My attention was no longer free.

I'm just gonna say F it and pick up a 2015. The last new car I'll buy for a long time I hope. I just get tired of haggling with dealers or owners over used stuff these days. Plus, then I know I'm the only one to have modded anything
