Would it be worth upgrading the rear drums to the Power Stop as well? I thought 2/3rds of the braking was from the front...

    Yeah.
I wouldn't bother with the rear. I had a '92 base pickup that I towed a 16' runabout boat with, and even at 130K I had plenty of pad left. If you do the fronts and it feels really unbalanced, then I would think about it.

rock auto prices are decent, until you get to the shipping...

I got an EBC rotor/pad kit for <$150 to my door. I talked with a sales guy and made sure he got the correct pads as there are two versions

Does the 2 pads issue apply to other brands besides EBC? I got the PowerStop kit for a 6 lug wheel- looked like the only choice for my '02 with 18" wheels...

    Yeah.
I think the main choices are 5 or 6 lug. You should be fine. Beyond that, there could be a choice of pad material, but that is not model-specific and more based on preference for your use. The pad material is probably the difference between the "performance" and "heavy duty" kits that RockAuto sells. I would bet the rotors are the same in both kits.
