Slider width can be a fine line between protection and making getting in/out a PITA - especially in tight parking spots. Mine stick out maybe a half to 3-quarter inch further than the same-make-but-older versions on @CMan's truck. Even with his 1.75" front lift of the Baja suspension, I find getting out of my truck takes more reach to the ground.

In other news, think I have finished processing this shot from Fort Griffin near Albany, Texas (aka - 80+ miles from anything!)

Totally agree with your point on slider width. Mine make it harder to get in and out, but I'm young and don't mind it. I'd rather have more protection.
Photo looks beautiful, as they always do!
Ehhhhh can't say I'm as big of a fan of the skinnies on a second gen.

Checked the door-ding clearance when I pulled the wife's car into the garage this afternoon. There's well over an inch between where the door hit the slider the door. Granted, not all doors hit the same way / same spot - nor every rock. The extra protection is good, but does come with trade-offs. For my use, I could have probably used the slightly more tucked in sizing, but unless someone wants to buy this set off me at my cost+time for paint and such, I'm not parting with them any time soon.

My Tacoma had Westin steps when I bough the truck I took them off because my jeans would always get dirty when my leg rubbed it getting out. That's my PITA. I'm thinking I'll just fab something in between. Maby a happy medium somewhere

Yeah the bigger sliders don't look bad it's just my leg would catch them on the way out. Ill do some searching and see what I find. Ill have to save my money back up after these wheels and tires anyway.

Just look at the build thread
I don't even notice my sliders. I don't use them to get in or out of my truck. I just step over them straight in to the cab. Same as I did with my tube steps.

    Bedlined?
Someone said to clear coat after bed lining, if that solves that issue then I might as well do that while my sliders are in the garage.

They have bedliner with satin black on top of it just to keep the bedliner from fading as much. Dry bedliner wouldn't get you dirty? At least it never has for me in the past

    What he said ^

Rustoleum spray on bed liner? It's the easiest way to touch up.

Just a silly question, but why bed line or powder coat sliders? If you actually use them in the rocks, then it's ruined. I used Rustoleum Hammered black paint. If you scratch it on a rock, paint over the chip, and you never know it was there. Cheap and easy.

Because from what I've seen, most "off road" vehicles around here are for show.

Isn't it the other way around? Better to bed line than powder coat of you actually use them. I used spray on bed liner cans are like $6 :notsure:
