This wind needs to die so I can black out my tailpipes, paint that pinch weld under the doors, and black out the hood scoop...

 

yeah i think all the coldness will be gone tomorrow. I have been waiting for the cold to leave so i can remove my sway bars. Im gonna try it and see if i like it. I also need to pull my front tires off and clean my brake pads, they are starting to squeel.

 

Coldness!!!! hahahaha. I love it. I'm originally from NY though so that makes this seem like nothing. I love being able to cut and not break a sweat.

Do you think your squeeling is from mudding?

 

yeah bc the truck is only 10 months old and only 15k miles so i dont think the pads r shot. I did this last time and it was fine till i went mudding again and than it started again about a month later. And my rear leaf springs squeel horribly so i am gonna try and find a pressure washer and go to town on them.

 

Pressure washer could work on the leafs. I lubed them and haven't heard a peep from them in about 3 months. What I did was wedge a big flathead in between two leaves and removed the plastic silencer pad. Then I cleaned it really well put some grease on it and on the leafs where the pad goes and put it back in. It took a while but no more squeek. If I remember correctly there are 3 or 4 pads on each side.

 

You reminded me Ryan... I also have a red caliper painting kit that's on hold for a nice day... hopefully it'll turn out good!

 

nice yeah that would look pretty good. I was thinking about doing mine just havnt gone and got the paint yet.

 

Not that you need it but if you'd like I don't have to cut tomorrow and am available from 2 til around 7 or 8 if you want me to help with the leafs, I've got the grease and the screwdrivers. Also I've got a pressure washer.

I live like 15 or 20 minutes from NAS.

Thanks again for the help jason. No more creeking. I also pulled those front brakes off and cleaned them out and no more grinding. And while i was messing around i found some of my U bolts to be loose so i tightened those down and checked all my lug nuts and found a few loose. But now everything is good.

 

No prob. Glad the creeking stopped and that you fixed the grinding. That's scary that some of the lugs were loose.

 

yeah i had started to get a kind of thunk noise when i stop or take off so i started looking around and thats what i found. no more thunk either.

 

That's a good thing haha. Are you talking about the U bolts on the leaf springs were loose? If so I should check mine because we had them done at the same place.

 

yeah the U bolts on the leaf springs. I had one loose on the right side and 3 loose on the left side.

 

Uh oh. I'll check mine when I get a chance. Come to think about it mine does thunk when going in reverse then hitting the brakes.

 

Google maps seems to have updated their maps or I've never noticed this. If you zoom in far enough it has state, national forests and stuff. Half of the stuff I've never heard of. Anybody heard of these nassau wildlife management area, Pumkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park, or Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. Do you think there are any trails in some of these?

 

I get something similar when I take off or brake. My entire gear shifter moves and there is just an abrupt thump kinda feel. Think it could be the same thing? For someone who isnt automotivly adept, how would I go about checking it, cause I was told by someone else it was from my transmission mount being loose.

 

if you have loose ubolts, then when stopping and starting, it will allow the axle to "shift". see if you can dig up the stock specs on torque for the ubolts and get ahold of a torque wrench and get them torqued correctly.

 

Its pretty easy just hop under your truck and look at the U shaped bolts that hold your leaf springs to your rear axle. If you need help just shoot me a PM i am pretty free this weekend for the first time in a long time so if u need help just give me a shout.
