I'm currently acquiring the parts for my suspension lift. Basically an OME suspension kit with All Pro UCA's (2.5" to 3" lift).

My problem is choosing the rear leaf options. I currently qualify for the leaf pack factory recall, which is causing my indecisiveness, because I have no clue when leaf packs will be available in my area. Here are my current options:

1 - Aftermarket leaf pack (Dakar, All Pro, etc.)
2 - Wait for TSB Factory leaf pack and install 2" Wheeler AALs (which will delay my entire suspension install)
3 - Install 3" block lift on rear with current shitty leaf springs, then install TSB/AAL when parts are available.

To try and answer some questions before they're asked:
I am not a hardcore wheeler
I am building my truck for camping and exploring
I need the lift to clear my 33's and provide ground clearance
I only plan to have gear in the bed when going camping, when the tent is pitched (bed tent), and when hauling my motorcycle around
The bed will be unloaded a majority of the time

I'm not looking for a statistical vote here, just some friendly suggestions on what I should do for my rear lift. If there are options that I haven't considered, please share!

    Hey Bryan,

I would suggest our standard leaf pack with a set of Timbrens for when you are carrying an extra load. Please, please stay away from blocks. Please give us a call and ask for Jon before you decide. He's awesome at suspension and can help you make the best decision for your situation, even if you don't choose our springs.... in my opinion of course :) Good luck!!!

How about this idea. Let Toyota install the TSB leaf. Since your truck is an older Taco if they have to cut the bolts that hold the leaf's on you end up with new ones which will be easier to install a new leaf pack with. Then you could sell the TSB pack to someone who can't get a set for their truck and end up with some money to offset the new spring purchase.

about an hour after i posted, a dude in Fort Wayne (2.5 hrs away) listed his suspension. I will be picking up his all pro expos, ubolts flip kit, timbren bumps, and 2.0 rear fox shox on Sunday.

Needless to say, Toyota doesn't need to know i changed my rear leafs. So i'll keep my old leafs, and trade them for the TSB when their available and give someone a good deal ;)

As far as I know you have to take the truck in and they change them out. Not a option to take them in and walk out with TSB springs off of the truck.

Well i can't install until i get my front coils/struts, and its taken me almost a year to get to this point... so it's highly likely i get my TSBs installed before I finish acquired the rest of the gear

now that i think about it, i'm going to take medic's advice and wait for the TSBs before i install these Expos i'm picking up. My frame is rusted to crap (hence the RustyBlue username), and it would be nice to have Toyota break all those bolts loose for me.

Sorry to Tracy@All-Pro Off Road for not buying new from her, but I will be representin' hard with the expos and the UCAs I picked up in the GroupBuy.

Oh, no worries! I'm just glad you got your suspension figured out. The fact that you will be running our springs is just an added plus!! Let us know if you need anything! :)
