Got some spacers off of alexcavs7 yesterday and thought why not install them today. I was looking for a little wider stance without buying new wheels and tires. I think this will work. I will get better pictures later.

That looks good. The general theme on this forum seems to be to avoid spacers. Any idea why? Is that assuming you do spacers + some kind of lift? If you just want a wider stance but no change to the suspension, is there any harm in going the spacer route?

Some say that when pushing the wheels out further you put more strain on the wheel bearings. It kind of makes sense (high school physics), but I don't think it is any different than getting new wheels with a different offset or backspace than the original wheels.

OP, I think it looks good.

I like it, in fact that makes me what a pair. I like the stock look personally, but a little wider stance makes it look meaner :headbang:

Yes I could see where it would put alittle more stress on the bearings if I was abusing this truck, but she will be a pavement queen. Only dirt she will see is getting to by dirt bike areas to ride.

    Thanks,

    Thank you,

    Spidertrax also makes a 1.5" I believe...

I put 1.25" on last week and love them. Did you have any rubbing? I had to trim the smallest bit of fender off and I've also had to cut on my front mud flaps. I'm putting a lift on in the next couple of weeks and I'm pretty sure that will alleviate any rubbing period but from just a stock height and adding the spacers both wheels rub on tight turns. I cut all I wanted to cut and I still have rub on u-turn-esque motions (I live on a culd-e-sac, so it's common for me). But like I said, I'm hoping the lift will stop the rest of the rub.

All Pro Offroad also makes a 1.5" spacer. I have them on all 4 corners on my truck. They've been on for years and have had no problems with them. The only difference the All Pros have from the Spidertrax is that the Spidertrax are anodized for rust protection. I also have my 5100s set at 2.5. I have no rubbing issues and am running 285's. The spacer, 5100s, 285s combination makes the truck look way better in my opinion.

Just make sure that when you get the spacer you get the hub centric ones, not the lug centric or you'll have vibration issues.

I've abused spidertrax spacers offroad on my wranger rubicon and never had an issue. The nice thing about the spaces is they allow you to run oversized tires on a high quality OEM wheel without clearance issues. Just be sure to use loctite on the hub to spacer connection as these are covered by the wheel .

When people strongly oppose spacers it is usually the bad kind that are a simple spacer washer with bolt holes to push your wheel out further, not the kind that are hub centric that bolt to your hub and than bolt to the wheel, which are perfectly safe.
