Yup. Those top two 17mm are the worst.

All of those little brackets which hold the harness down, lasted only one time. After that, they were all gone or replaced with zip ties.

Clutch line in-cab re-finished, and one header installed. Lol

I used 2 extra long extensions, total ~4'. Once you got the socket in brrr with the impact. Was a bitch until I gotem.
Agreed on the harness clips. I did blow it and flipped the O2 sensor harness. Chased a bad sensor for months before a buddy found some other web site where a guy did the same thing. Permanently marked now!

Hating my TB squeak and looking at URD's fix. I'd love to have the hydraulic TB, think it would be worth pursuing for the stock trany? I must admit, that high gear of yours is really tempting though. Add a crawl box and retain good MPG, freaking dream.

When I only had the Craftsman 3/8" ratchet, it was a serious pain in the ass. With the Snap-On swivel head 3/8" 100 tooth ratchet......so many things became less frustrating. Including those two bolts. Passenger fender location is super easy now.

Hey Tor (and any others for that matter) since we are kind of on the subject..

As some of you know, I have been hearing what can only be best described as a cracked flexplate, which I attempted to fix a couple weeks ago. The old flexplate showed no signs of wear or tear, but I replaced the flexplate anyways with no luck. The noise still persists, but possibly not as prominent. I just recently learned in my continued research and self diagnosis.. a possible bad throwout bearing (if I had a manual) would create similar symptoms.

My question is.. is there an equal/similar part in a torque converter? (Possibly the Torrington Bearing?)

I used a 2" holesaw and just cut holes in the floor board to get at the top two bolts. Then I riveted covers on, so I just drill out the rivets next time.

On the gearing, have you guys ever heard of Gear Vendors under/overdrive? My buddy has one in his F-350 with a souped up Cummins swapped in. It's interesting, it gives you half gears so you can have low gears for grunt, but still get it on the top end.

@Moose1988 . You have never mentioned that the truck felt like it was slipping, so that pretty much rules out the clutch. Unless a spring broke. But then that would cause additional issues. From what I remember about the video, I would say that you are probably right about it being the bearing.

I doubt Toyota sells the parts individually, so might as well replace the whole thing. Pretty sure that IPT even upgrades them. Get you new one in and pull that old one apart to see what failed. Then show n tell. :D

@username , never heard of that company before. Sounds reminiscent of semi tractor gearing.

@SMKYTXN , that hand reminds me of "The Dark Brotherhood" in the Elder Scrolls games. Lol. Apparently it has other actual ties with it as well......

I had to look up the Elder Scrolls game. Sure enough, pretty similar. So we're a bunch of toyota assassins huh?

Oh, got something cooking. Check it out. :D

It is kind of like driving a tractor, but the split shifts are so fast (almost instant) you can keep the motor in the powerband the whole time. Once you get used to it you can haul the mail. They hold up to massive horsepower numbers (2500+) and are used in all kinds of go fast builds.

Omg at this point I can't imagine you with only a 3/8" ratchet of any teeth!

If anyone else is taking your trany down and those two top bolts got YA down, you can do it from the tail housing. Not a HB advocate but for $15 they are my clutch extensions now. I think it beats drilling holes in my floor.

My posts are long do you may have missed my question on your hydraulic TB. Think I can get one for the stock 6spd? Worth it?

Hmmm. Not sure what you mean by an hydraulic TOB, since it already comes with one. Care to elaborate so I can be on the same page as you?

Sure. The TOB you have has the hydraulics directly attached.
Mine has the accumulator, slave cylinder, fork and TOB sliding on the aluminum transmission snout and making godforsaken bird chirps when ever released.
I was thinking for a little more money I could go your route and not have the TOB trouble. Besides @HomerTaco drove my truck a week ago and even he didn't like my clutch.
