I'm sure the resident detailer has the professional answer. I've always vacuumed the heck out of the perferated portion to pull whatever out , the sprayed uplostrey cleaner, leather cleaner on the wiping device itself Not the seats, and gently wiped down that part of the seat.

I dunno man, enough to not be the first on my block to try it. I find clay barring a vehicle the first time is a pain in the anatomy. If I put down good quality wax or sealant, the next time I clay its a breeze.

i actually did the Tacoma for the second time ever this weekend. I did it in late March (purchased Mar 6), and then again 06-21 with about 3700 miles showing, parked outdoors. No biggie the second time around, I am probably good for a year.

Could be that the new thing is better, I'll read up on it before I order more clay in 2018.

Do agree with the above about using a high quality carnuba on top of a well cured sealant, very impressive.

they work. Some mar the paint pretty bad. But if you're correcting your paint anyway? Ive used a few and liked them. Still would prefer to clay bar if just waxing/sealing over. I only use the mitts when im correcting.

I see there are two different type (fine and medium?). Which have you used?

i use medium. Fine doesnt seem to get much off. But if you dont have much to remove then it may work just fine.

No money, all went to truck...
I use the fine. My experience has been very different from ltdcs'. It worked great, no marring.

Think when I am ready, I will go with the fine one just to be safe.
I like the idea that if it does get dropped you don't have to toss it and it seems a bit more user friendly.
    Cost effective too.

So I got some free cleaner today that claims to be a waterless wash. You spray it on, gently wipe it with a cloth, it "encapsulates" the dirt, and then gets toweled off. Are these types of products BS or are they decent?

some are decent. They dont replace a full wash. There more of a spot detailer for a well wax ride. Thats my experience anyway on my '32

I've rinse free washed my car and families car for the past year because of the drought. Obviously there are limitations to how dirty you can get and do this without damaging your finish. I spray my solution to break up any bugs or bigger debris. Otherwise I use a two bucket method with 5-10 towels depending how dirty the vehicle is. I really like it and it really helps out in drought stricken areas.

Can anyone explain to me the differences/qualities of acrylic sealants vs other synthetic sealants (polymers)? Pros/cons, etc. I went in search of a good sealer in town today and ended up coming home with Wizards Supreme Seal. Didn't realize until I got home that it is an "acrylic based formula" and I'm not sure what that meant. After three hours of online research, I'm still not sure. Some people suggest that a lot of the polymer synthetics may also be acrylic, it's just not explicitly stated. Truth to this? And yet others are described as "non-acrylic" or water-based, suggesting that they are not acrylic. Hmm...

So, I've come across the names of say 20 different sealers on the forum that are very often used. Very commonly mentioned products. Are some of these likely acrylic and some non-acrylic? Most appear to be "polymer" technology. If those are that much better, why is wizards still putting out an acrylic sealer?

Lots of info here, but can someone simplify this for me?

That was my plan, do a full wash, clay bar, wash again, then use the waterless wash for spot detailing... I need to get a wax in there too.

Hey guys I'm about to wash the truck with two buckets and a wool mitt. Next I have megs clay kit, turtle rubbing, turtle polishing, and turtle pre wax and wax. Is this the correct way to detail the truck? I already had the wax bottles but the clay and compounds I tried to get by following the OP guidelines. Store is not far away if this is incorrect. Thanks!!

Trying to do a full detail? Sealant should be before wax, in essence you're sealing the paint and adding protective layers over it with wax.

Honestly don't know, I would think so haha
In a way, yeah. But the OP lacks a little bit of info since it was last edited from 2008.
But to the point it just depends how the paint looks and what needs to be corrected etc.
If you want to do it as professional job as you can you're supposed to seal the paint once it's corrected and polished, then you let cure for x time, and last add protection via wax.
